It's decent but not up there with his best stuff. Definitely worth a watch if you're a Raimi fan.

Drag Me to Hell is the spiritual successor to Evil Dead 2 IMO. It might be PG-13, but it's nastier than the R-rated Army of Darkness. It's a lot of fun and was a huge relief to see that he hadn't lost the ability to do a ridiculous horror movie after the Spider-Man movies. It's not a perfect movie or anything, and obviously the main character is no Bruce Campbell, but if you like Evil Dead 2 you definitely should see it.

Seeing it in the theater on opening weekend was wonderful. The whole crowd went NUTS during the old lady attack, especially the gumming.

Games really looks interesting, I def want to check that one out. & Drag me to hell is a great film but I already own the universal blu that comes w both versions. Good to see it getting some scream factory love tho.

I speculated the possibility after Silent Night Deadly Night, but could the announcement of Leslie Vernon provide further evidence of a small deal with Starz/Anchor Bay (despite the Lionsgate ownership)? As with SNDN, the existing Blu-ray doesn't look to be OOP.

If so, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Scream release a CE of Hatchet in 2018. If Frightfest are correct (it's possible they made a mistake given that the Unrated Director's Cut was released on DVD/Blu), a new cut has been prepared recently:

I doubt they licensed this from Anchor Bay/Lionsgate, so I'm assuming the rights have since reverted back to the producers. Maybe Anchor Bay only had a 10 year license?

Probably. But Hatchet was released around the same time, so maybe there's a chance if they had a similar arrangement? Looks like AB might be losing some of their properties.

Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that go to Dark Sky Films / MPI, since they currently have the rest of the series, including the new film, Victor Crowley.

I think this "never before seen footage for the 10th Anniversary of HATCHET" was actually just the new film VICTOR CROWLEY. It was one of a couple surprise screenings prior to the film even being announced, so only super fans of the original got to experience it, when the originally thought they were just seeing the first film again.

I'll echo zbinks' sentiments and say that Scream Factory is probably just picking up rights to certain titles as Anchor Bay is losing them.

I didn't care for it much and remember being really surprised with the hype that it got.

I think the four announced yesterday might be it. In the past, Halloween announcements were made early in the day. It's still early but it's not that early

Yeah this makes the most sense in light of the unrated DC already being released.

So for March we already know of Leslie Vernon and Nightmare at Noon. I wonder if The Strangers will also make an appearance?

I think they're only announcing Leslie Vernon today.

The way they worded it sounds like they did several lower tier titles yesterday and one big one today.

With just one mighty stroke of the bat Kino just blew Scream out of the water.

I know. Super lame. The only studio that announced something was Kino. Good for them.

Seems this great announcement was overlooked?

Look for this all-new Collector's Edition Blu-ray release in March of next year. More details to be announced end of Nov / early Dec.
