I just got the Xbox One X yesterday as my first 4k blu ray player.
I cannot get the settings to allow bitstream out audio, or 5.1/7.1 uncompressed. It is stuck on stereo. When I try to select the other settings an error pops up to verify my receiver can decode 5.1/bitstream. I had my original Xbox One working correctly with the bitstream audio setting. My setup is a TCL P Series 55 in. 4k HDR tv. The Xbox One X is in the HDMI 1 spot. My Sony receiver (cannot figure out exact model, bought in 2013 for $350, 7.2 says HiRes audio and 4k/3D pass through) is connected to the HDMI 3 for ARC audio. With this setup 4k blu ray works great and looks amazing. The tv flashes the HDR logo on startup. However, only stereo sound is working. I tried putting the Xbox hdmi in the receiver and a message popped up that video quality would not be the best and the picture was really bad. Cannot I watch 4k blu ray and get DTS-HD audio using this receiver? |
