All of this Jerry vs the NFL reminds me of Al Davis constantly battling the NFL. I wonder how today’s media would’ve covered that.

Side note to that....i used to be friends with a lawyer. He was working in the same courthouse as Al Davis during one of these NFL battles. He saw Al sitting on a bench one day and talked X’s and O’s and defensive schemes with Al for 20 minutes

Jerry is just a nutcase, he'll stop battling the NFL when he's dead, why I'm surprised he has as much power in the NFL as he does. Can't believe Goodell's new deal still isn't done, too bad for him.

Meh.. I don't like the guy whatsoever. But the commissioner, if I were him, needs to have all the power he has. I don't have a problem with the power he possesses - it's the inconsistency behind it, along with the long hassles that we saw with Brady.

I'm on the fence on Thursday night games yet I hate international games. I think the biggest problem with Goodell was the CTE denials and mishandling. That's huge. You have players not playing as long, you have guys saying they wouldn't let their kids play football. That hurts - and will hurt them much more down the road.

Just an FYI, every judge, at every level, hands down inconsistent sentences.
Why? Because much like the Commish, they take into consideration past history and severity of the crime, among other things.
This is why many crimes use wording like “up to x amount”.
So should we all hate on every judge in the system, and hope for their removal?

I get it, folks don’t like Roger because I they can’t hate their own teams owner. So Roger makes for an easy target to vent rage. As I’ve said before, this is why he gets paid the big bucks.

And what's wrong with him asking? Yet again, this is an owner problem not a Roger problem. The owners don't have to say yes if what Roger is asking for is outrageous for them.

The fact that random NFL fans are going to be offended is irrelevant. Random NFL fans will be pissed no matter what his compensation is.

In all fairness, I myself have always said the American judicial system is pure crap

But he's no judge. You either did or didn't do whatever the alleged incident was. It's just whether or not you did it.

People forget the commissioner is doing the dirty work for the owners. The owners tell him what they want, and Goodell puts that plan into motion while the owners hide behind him.

Tough tity.

NFL is too soft. These athletes take their talents and careers for granted while complaining about everything as if they're slaves. You play a game you are gifted at and supposed to love for a ridiculous amount of money. What I would give to do something I love while having a platform to make a difference in the community and be a role model for kids.

Athletes need to shut their damn mouths when they're too stupid to form valid opinions, and if you touch a woman (with 100% evidence), you should be banned from the league.

Keep banning idiots until it forces other idiots to wake up. If they can't wake up, too bad.

I have no sympathy or patience for people who d*ck around and get away with everything without facing justice.

Goodell is a no talent ass clown in every sense of that phrase. Asking for a $50mil salary now? $33mil a year ain't good enough? Goodell is the perfect example of a very financially successful man that isn't really a man when push comes to shove. He's had so many opportunities to do the right thing, but he's too soft.

The league has become a total sh*t show in so many ways. I get less and less interested each year.

That said, I hate the Steelers and GO TITANS!
If it affects the bottom line these players wont get banned its the same BS with the college players if it affects the bottom line they skate if they are good end of discussion

A change in leadership would be a breath of fresh air for the NFL, but it’s hard to see the owners actually doing it.

NFL Network's Jane Slater reports Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (groin) won't play Week 11 against the Eagles.

It's a huge blow to a Cowboys' offensive line that yielded eight sacks in last week's loss to Atlanta. After being manhandled by Adrian Clayborn last week, Chaz Green will revert to the bench with Byron Bell filling in at left tackle. Smith remains week to week.

Case Keenum won player of the week despite the two ugly picks and yet there's a quick hook waiting for him against Los Angeles. Priceless.

If youre into nfl $$ betting the rj bell dream podcast on podcastone.com every thursday is a most excellent listen - they always pop some interesting stats.

with sean lee on the field:
opponents qb rating = 85
opponents avg rush = 3.5

with sean lee off the field (which he usually is)
opp qbr = 103
opp rush 5.1

those are some wild differences.

When the NFL convenes for its Dec. 13 meeting in Irving, Texas, there will be an owners-only session that will deal with the impending extension for commissioner Roger Goodell, according to sources.

The session was made after Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones requested a special meeting in front of the full ownership group on Nov. 28 in New York. The Wall Street Journal first reported Jones' request. Jones' meeting request was denied, but owners will make time for a session two weeks later, sources said.

Jones and the NFL have had a back and forth regarding the extension talks that have had both sides threatening legal action.

On Wednesday, the Associated Press obtained a letter sent to Jones from the compensation committee that accused him of "conduct detrimental to the league's best interest."

Jones was an ad hoc member of the compensation committee until he was removed by chairman and Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank after threatening legal action against the NFL and the six teams that make up the committee if the extension for Goodell was finalized.

In his Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jones said he wants the league to "slow the train down" on an extension for Goodell. Last May, all 32 owners voted unanimously to let the committee finalize a deal with Goodell.

In Jones' letter to ownership, he said he wanted the Nov. 28 sit-down in order to discuss the negotiations, oversight of the compensation committee handling Goodell's deal and the date of a vote on the extension. He also cited "unprecedented upheaval" in the NFL over the past two seasons, saying, "This is not the time for the League to undertake massive contractual obligations which are inconsistent with the League's performance."

Jones has denied that his objections to the extension are tied to Goodell's decision to suspend Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott for six games over alleged domestic violence.

Elliott abandoned his legal fight over the suspension on Wednesday. He has five games left to serve and will be able to rejoin the Cowboys for their Dec. 24 home game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Jones has said he has issues with compensation in the Goodell deal, along with concerns about the escalation of player protests involving the national anthem and how the league has handled them. He also has suggested that owners should revisit the power that the position wields.

I found it funny Jerry Jones is upset about the money it’s paid by all the owners. So a little over 1.5 million a team. This is a pissing contest and I hope both their old d!cks fall off.
