the best time to purchase a tv, as a poster above has said, is when you find a deal that you can afford and fits your needs. there are great sales all year long, but people think that xmas/superbowl is the only time that deals are to be had. i have almost 6 years in retail, and as a store i have NEVER seen a discount given for cash. we get no benefit if you pay cash/check/charge. if you buy a tv around march or april, you can see some pretty nice deals on clearence models and open box displays. so really there is no need to wait for a specific time to buy a set from a b&m store. just mho
