Default The 6 Degrees Collection (1989-2003)

Mill Creek will be releasing a Kevin Bacon 6-Film Collection, which includes several films previously released by them, but also includes Where The Truth Lies, which I believe is a first for the format, so that's primarily what I decided to make this thread about.

Quote:

It’s 6 degrees of sizzling hot Bacon with this diverse collection of films across the award-winning actor’s extensive career. From a med student with a desire for dying to a comedy legend shrouded in mystery, this versatile actor is a master of the acting craft!

The Big Picture
(1989) - Color - 1 Hour 41 Minutes - PG-13

Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Jason Leigh, J.T. Walsh, Teri Hatcher, Martin Short, Michael McKean

An Inside Look At How NOT To Get A Movie Made.

Today's Hollywood is hilariously lampooned in The Big Picture, a behind the scenes look at the costs of making it in the hip and happening world of show business. Kevin Bacon stars as Nick Chapman, a naïve kid from Ohio who wins the Best Student Film award form the prestigious National Film Institute. Suddenly hot, Nick jumps out of the ivory tower headlong into the Hollywood fast lane, where he's seduced by manic agents, power happy producers, and the irresistibly quirky Jennifer Jason Leigh. Giving in to temptation, Nick sells out, sacrificing his friends, his true love and his self-respect. But when his career comes to a screeching halt, his dream turns into a comic nightmare and he discovers beneath the Hollywood tinsel lies a system that breaks 'em as fast as it make 'em.

Flatliners

(1990) - Color - 1 Hour 54 Minutes - R
Keifer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt, Kimberly Scott

Some lines shouldn't be crossed.

“Flatliners is an original, intelligent thriller” – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Medical students begin to explore the realm of near death experiences, hoping for insights. Each has their heart stopped and is revived. They begin having flashes of walking nightmares from their childhood, reflecting sins they committed or had committed against them. The experiences continue to intensify, and they begin to be physically beaten by their visions as they try and go deeper into the death experience to find a cure.

“Flatliners is a strikingly original, often brilliantly visualized film” – Variety

“a heart-stopping, breathtakingly sumptuous haunted house of a movie” – Rita Kempley, Washington Post

Hollow Man

(2000) - Color - 1 Hour 52 Minutes - R

Elisabeth Shue, Kevin Bacon, Josh Brolin, Kim Dickens, Joey Slotnick, William Devane

What would you do if you were invisible? How far would you go? After years of experimentation, Dr. Sebastian Caine, a brilliant but arrogant and egotistical scientist working for the Defense Department, has successfully transformed mammals to an invisible state and brought them back to their original physical form. Determined to achieve the ultimate breakthrough, Caine instructs his team to move on to Phase III: human experimentation. Using himself as the first subject, the invisible Caine finds himself free to do the unthinkable.

Trapped

(2002) - Color - 1 Hour 46 Minutes - R

Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Kevin Bacon, Courtney Love

“The movie is gripping all the way”… – dvdempire.com, D.W.Pritchett

From the producer of Thelma & Louise comes a white knuckle, edge of your seat thriller starring Charlize Theron (Snow White and the Huntsman), Courtney Love (The People vs. Larry Flint), Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and Kevin Bacon (X-Men: First Class). When their daughter is taken for ransom by a gang of serial kidnappers, a young doctor and his wife find themselves held hostage while a 24 hour plan to extort their money is set into motion. With time running out and the health of their asthmatic daughter at serious risk, they find themselves in a race against the clock as the “perfect crime” begins spiraling towards an unthinkable, terrifying and deadly conclusion.

In The Cut

(2003) - Color - 1 Hour 59 Minutes - R

Meg Ryan, Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Jason Leigh

“Meg Ryan is dynamite in the most explosive performance of her career,” – David Moss, FOX TV

This sensual thriller features Meg Ryan (You’ve Got Mail) and Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers) in unforgettable performances as they search for a killer who knows their every move, and knows they’re getting too close for comfort. In the underbelly of lower Manhattan, Frannie Avery (Ryan), a reserved English professor, becomes obsessed after seeing more than she should of an impassioned couple. After the young woman turns up dead, Frannie is questioned by a homicide detective (Ruffalo) who draws her into a liberating but disturbing erotic encounter. As the body count rises, familiar suspects begin to emerge.

Where the Truth Lies

(2005) - Color - 1 Hour 47 Minutes - Not Rated

Kevin Bacon, Colin Firth, Alison Lohman, David Hayman
A female journalist, Karen O'Conner tries to uncover the truth behind the breakup, years earlier, of a celebrated comedy team after the duo found a girl dead in their hotel room. Though both had airtight alibis and neither was accused, the incident put an end to their act.
