Maybe. The US 2D regular Blu-ray has Dolby Atmos. 2D UK only have DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, according to the backcover. Maybe this could affect Dolby Vision as well. |

Only if it's a global master being used. I don't know if Sony or Warner Bros. produced the actual home video master used. Sony has been, overall, the top in terms of general UHD Blu-ray image quality. Warner tends to bitstarve and use a bit too much smoothing.

Twitter is like Wikipedia, if not far worse. I would take what you read there with a giant dumptruck of salt.

It will be interesting to see if WB did their own disc and Sony did their own too in their respective distribution areas for this title. Of course, it's all a rumor. And people should know about what is said about rumors... though they often forget.

I live in USA.
Gosh. We are Lucky to have VUDU.com stream Blade Runner 2049 in DV. Its PQ is excellent. I watched half of it last night. I guess I will buy its 3D disc next. So Warner will get 2 Dips from me. I don't want the 4K HDR disc if it don't have DV for the movie. Maybe Warner wants me to Dip again in the future with a DV Disc(with the High Bit-Rate). Like in Europe. Which BTW don't have VUDU. All this is so Crazy. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 01-02-2018 at 07:00 PM. Reason: Finishing |

Im having lip sync issues playing Dolby Vision blu-rays using BOTH a Yamaha A3060 (with newest firmware that supports DV) and a Pioneer Elite SC-LX502. I'll hear the audio coming thru the main speakers and the lips of the actors will move about 1.5 seconds after. If I connect my player directly to my LG E6 it will playback Dolby Vision with no lip sync at all. So its clearly the receivers to blame in all this.
Can anyone recommend a good receiver they use that supports Dolby Vision pass through and doesn't have any lip sync issues? By the way, all my 4K HDR blu-rays (about 30 total) play perfectly thru both receivers, no lip sync at all. So if I adjust the delay for DV then I have to reset the delay every time I watch a regular HDR blu-ray. ![]() Just looking for a receiver that works properly without having to adjust delay option. Any ideas are extremely welcome. Thanks! |

In North America we'll just buy Tesla cars, and fake TV news. That, we're real good @ it. 8K LG OLED is coming up too, with Dolby Vision. If the ticket price to Mars wasn't so expensive I would reserve my seat. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 01-03-2018 at 01:06 AM. |
