The Vudu version of BR2049 was already amazing looking. Which is saying something, since they compress their streams much more so than Apple, Netflix, or Amazon.

So, I can only imagine how good the disc will look.

'IT' looks tremendous. But I don't foresee it being near BR2049's level.

Default 34.99 ????

This movie on it's best day is worth 19.99 even for the 4K version.

34.99 ??? WHY ?

I will pass until inevitability it will be priced where it should be. 19.99 or less.

Hate studios trying to CASH in on something based on positive reviews.

For us Australian peeps, came out early at JB HiFi today. I can also confirm the disc has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and as stated above it looks absolutely STUNNING!!!!

Quick question: Did anyone else's slip cover have two bends in the front-middle? Every single copy at my local BB did and I'm just curious whether it was BB or possibly WB messed them up during production. They're not super obvious but they're there.

6 days until Blade Runner.
Yes I saw a lot of them bent in that same way at BB. However I found a cardboard display for IT movie release and found a pristine 4K Copy in there but then the cashier was playing with my copy and tapping it along the desk, I was almost about to full on confront him but he stopped, until he did one final tap on it when he gave it to me. Next time I will say something because its ridiculous. -_- He ended up slightly bending the cardboard but I was able to bend it back with no markings on it. At this point I feel like I'm caring too much for slipcovers but seriously they need to just stop playing around with the customers item.

It's $30, not $35. If you pay extra for packaging, that's on you. It's still a ridiculous price....but WB wants ALL the moneys.

It's definitely WB that's crinkling the slips during production as I noticed that the Blade Runner 2049 slips have the exact same creases in the exact same spot. WTF WB!

Hmmm, I’m also getting the Dolby Vision grey bars on this one changed my brightness from 50 to 49 to compensate on my TV. Viewing on an Oppo 203, LG OLED C6

Yeah, I think it hurts the format in the long run.
They seem to have a small but significant amount of buyers that will pay $35 because of some slip cover.
I wouldn't touch new release physical media for more than $20.
That was the price that Blu-Ray seemed to settle at and 4k should not be more then that.

If Best Buy had Dunkirk, American Made, and It for $20 on release week, I would have bought all of them. Instead, I'll happily wait.

Hasn't new releases always been around $30? They have been since I was collecting VHS in the 80's. I actually think 4K has been the cheapest format for new releases. Not saying it's good, I hate spending $30-$40 on a new release but it's always been that way.

You're probably right but I think many of us are onto the pricing schemes and it seems that most new releases end up on sale due to competition between Amazon, Best Buy, Target, etc. I only bought this for $29.99 due to $6 bucks leftover on a BB gift card and a $5 rewards cert also from BB. Otherwise, Id have waited!

Im going to watch this for the second time tonight. I wasnt overly impressed when I saw it at the theater but many times in the past Ive liked a film better upon a second viewing so Im going to give it a shot. If it still doesnt work for me, Ill just sell it off on this site.

Just checked and my Amazon preorder was only $25.49. If there’s a 4K movie coming out you’re interested in, consider preordering early to lock in any price drops. You can always cancel later if you change your mind.

I have a very strange problem with this movie. Honestly, I was expecting to find other people reporting this, but it seems to just be me?

When I go to play this movie, starting at the beginning, the screen is almost completely black (sound is normal). You can see the faintest impression of the Warner Bros. logo on the screen. You have to be looking hard to even notice this, at first glance it appears to just be a black screen. As the movie keeps playing, the blackness continues and does not go away. However, if I start rewinding or fast forwarding, the picture instantly appears and looks completely normal, and quite good in fact. It's only when trying to play it normally (or pausing) that the screen is almost entirely black. This is why it doesn't seem to me like it could be an issue with the TV or the disc. What's even weirder is that not every scene is like this. If I scene skip (or select scene from the menu) to the 4th selectable scene, the picture looks entirely normal. If I then rewind to somewhere in the 3rd scene and press play, I can actually watch the 3rd scene and it looks ok (even though if I scene select the 3rd scene directly I get the black screen). But rewinding back even further doesn't work. No matter what I try, I can't get the 1st or 2nd scenes to be anything but a black screen (unless I'm actively rewinding or fast forwarding at the time). If I watch from the 4th scene on, the picture is normal for a while but goes back to a black screen after a few minutes.

I'm using an Oppo UDP-203 and was able to "fix" the problem by changing the HDR setting from auto to forced which results in HDR10 instead of Dolby Vision. I can play my other Dolby Vision disc (Cabin in the Woods) just fine though. I'm on the latest firmware and also tried a factory reset (and did not restore my settings) but that didn't do anything. I can only watch the (entire) movie on the UHD by disabling Dolby Vision in this manner.

The disc visually appears flawless. My HDMI cable is premium certified. My TV is an LG Oled 2016 C6. But I'm not sure how any of those could be the culprit if I get a perfect picture while rewinding or fast forwarding. On the other hand, if one else has this issue, it wouldn't seem to be a problem with the player in general either.

The UHD has gray bars by the way...or at least I experience them like some others have when I can see the picture in Dolby Vision. The Blu-ray (which looks quite good incidentally) does not.

Man, that sucks. I didn't have any of those issues (black scenes or grey bars) but I have a B6, which has a different processor, so our setup is a little different. What setting do you use for Dolby Vision? Do you have any of the additional features (such dynamic color/contrast) turned on that might mess with the picture?

Also, did you redeem the digital code? If so, maybe try watching the streaming copy in UHD and see if you have the seem issue. It is also in Dolby Vision and that might help you confirm if it's a disc issue or not. Just be sure to redeem the digital code on Movies Anywhere and link to your Vudu account in order to get the UHD version.

Sounds like a disc issue to me. I had something similar with Ghostbusters 2. Took awhile but eventually contacting sony got me a replacement disc.

Nope. I pretty much stay away from theatres now with 4K. So I'm an IT virgin.

Just wondering, do you watch in a completely dark environment?

Completely lightless environment isn't an option for me (one can always dream) but our living room is pretty dark when we watch at night. I have seen grey vertical bars in the opening moments of Valerian and I got flickering bars one time while streaming Watchmen on Vudu, so I'm a little familiar with what everyone has been experiencing. But I've watched a ton of DV content recently--on disc and streaming--and my blacks (horizontal bars included) have stayed solid. I have no idea why it's not happening to me.

I can't help but wonder if I maybe missed a firmware update that caused the DV issues, since for some reason my TV has typically not updated automatically (I had to update via USB to get the Game Mode update since no matter what I did it would NOT update via the internet).
