I see. So if you send audio to a passthrough receiver via HDMI, you get no sound? I'd like to shake hands with the person responsible for creating that concept.

But wait. Your first sentence says you will get no HDMI sound. Your second sentence then says (or at least implies I think) that you will indeed get HDMI sound, just that the receiver doesn't change anything itself.
