Why does SONY resist VC-1 ?

My guess is THE biggest reason Apple supports MPEG4 Part 10 over VC-1 is MPEG4 uses the Apple QuickTime file format as its standard. Thus Apple is most likely one of the patent holders behind MPEG4 Part 10.
