Default Digital Copies of Movies

Okay I've got several of these laying around. The Dark Knight being one of them. I just redeemed the code from iTunes onto my HP laptop and downloaded the movie into my library.

However when I try to move it to my iPod Touch it says my computer is not authorized? What the heck does that mean and how do I authorize it?

My question is what the hell do I do after the downloading is complete? Eject the disc and throw it away? Or is there any reason to keep the disc?
