I don't mind waiting so much, but I do mind the frustrating lack of tracking info from Asendia. Waiting isn't nearly as bad when you can track the progress of your package.

For those ordering from Amazon UK, I recommend using AmazonGlobal Standard shipping instead of regular standard shipping. AmazonGlobal Standard shipping costs slightly more than standard shipping, but comes with a tracking number.

AmazonGlobal Priority is only £5 or £6 more than "Standard Delivery" and it will arrive in 2 days or less via DHL Express or UPS Next Day Air. I understand wanting to save a few bucks, but the small extra cost is well worth it to me.

Standard Delivery (left); AmazonGlobal Priority (right):

If you order 3 or more movies together, Amazon Global Standard is actually cheaper than standard delivery (although the cost for AGS appears to have been increasing lately).

Hmm, I've never compared the shipping options--will need to pay more attention the next time. I usually just go with whatever is the cheapest--I would rather save the money and wait a little longer--it's not like I don't have a stack of other unopened movies I can watch in the meantime.

I ordered Thor Ragnarok along with Ant-Man and Guardians 2 all in 3d from amazon.uk on 2/25. Supposed to arrive 3/12, NOPE!! Thor now says 3/21 date while the other 2 discs just say late and contact amazon. All were shipped with Asendia. Why can't we have nice things Amazon UK???

I was hoping Amazon UK had stopped using Asendia. My copy of Ragnarok was sent UPS i-Parcel. It was dispatched on 8 Mar and arrived 12 Mar. I used standard shipping.

Just use Amazon Global Priority. They recently reduced the cost from a whopping 22 British pounds to just under 9 British pounds. As ryanmcv posted, the cost difference is minimal between shipping options and you will get the item in just 2-3 days. After seeing the reduced cost for Amazon Global Priority with Thor, I placed preorders for Star Wars, Jumanji and Black Panther all with Global Priority shipping.

I still have not received my delivery from Amazon.uk.

Update:

Amazon: On checking the order, I can see that the order is not delivered even as the estimated delivery date has passed. Please accept my sincere apologies for the hassle caused.

Me: No problem.

Amazon: In this case, to help you better, I will escalate this to the concerned internal team and I will also issue a full refund for the order as a token of apology. I request you to keep the item when it arrives. You will not be charged for the same. END.

I wonder if the package will be delivered though! I've had that happen before and the package did come so we'll see.

It's really weird right now with them, some items ship almost immediately, other in-stock items are taking a week to even start processing.

Well the headache that was involved with not only waiting but wondering if my Thor Ragnarok 3-D from Amazon UK would ever arrive has made me reconsider my international 3D retailers. If the 3D quality for this is even in the same realm as Thor then it’s a must have. I’m just not sure if I want to deal with Amazon UK again. They made things right but it took them forever to get it to me and I read all these posts about everyone who had ordered from Zavvi already having their copy weeks before me. I’m still waiting on the last Jedi from Amazon and have considered canceling the order but I see that Zavvi is out of stock. So if I order Black panther steel book from Zavvi there’s a good chance that I’ll get my copy before Amazon, is that correct? Sorry if this isn’t the right place for this question. Thanks

Pay the extra $5.50 for global priority and you’ll receive Amazon U.K. orders in just 2 days. The actual shipping amount is around 8.9 British pounds for Global Priority vs 4.9 British pounds for Global Standard. It’s puzzling why so many refuse to pay the extra amount and then complain why it takes so long to get stuff from Amazon UK. Is it because people don’t realize how inexpensive Global Priority is or people really don’t want to pay the extra $5.50 shipping charge?

If I import to the USA, from anywhere and pay the least for shipping. I don't start to worry until 4 weeks from the shipping (dispatch) date. Amazon UK waited a long time to ship my order for Thor after the movie was available. That's what gets me mad NOT the long shipping times. The worst delay was a movie that took 6 weeks to arrive after being shipped. Amazon UK provided great customer service with that.

Hasn't Global shipping from Amazon UK gone down in price ? I'll have to consider paying extra the next time I order from Amazon UK.

I don’t mind the wait for the cheaper shipping. I get the UHD copy on release date from Best Buy and then a week or two later get the 3D copy from Amazon.uk. By then, I’m ready to watch the movie again. Works for me.

A week or 2 later would be swell. I'm now at over 2-1/2 weeks with the latest Marvel release, so the wait will likely be 3 weeks by the time it arrives. With these protracted wait times, expedited shipping begins to make sense.

I'm going to try this for The Last Jedi 3D. I've had a couple orders in the last year get lost or come super late using the standard shipping method.

Has anyone noticed that a LOT of 3D Blu-Rays on Amazon.co.uk are now listed as "This Item Does Not Ship To The United States" and then says "read more" but that only shows lists of large or dangerous items, etc. that have NOTHING to do with a Blu-Ray. Julia X 3D, World War Z 3D and Shark Night 3D all say they cannot be delivered to the USA. World War Z (which is advertised as REGION FREE) is a very good price (5.44 pounds before VAT is removed plus shipping or about $8 US delivered when all is said and done (compared to $20 USD from US Amazon)...except they won't deliver it (yes, I tried; it REFUSED and won't give any reason). I'm wondering if this is becoming new policy or there's just a bunch of companies that won't let their products ship internationally?

It looks like I can order a USED one from someone (for 2.72 pounds)....yes. With shipping, (no VAT removed as far as I can tell), it was still around $8 US. But that's used-very good. Can't buy new. They won't sell it to me. Crazy.

Edit: I've send an email to customer service at Amazon.co.uk asking if they can clarify why region free Blu-Rays (World War Z is anyway) are not available to ship to the USA when they are PRIME items shipped by Amazon. Let's see if they have an answer....
