But let's all be honest, most people will be more interested in Good Burger they're showing the night before, also on 35mm. Now that is a film Dark Force should pry from Nickelodeon/Paramount and release ![]() |

PRIMAL SCREAM
Very healthy and filmic grain and LOTS of detail. Very nice looking in this regard. Grain fans will be very happy. Color surprisingly good ~26-28mbps average bitrate Pretty regular but minor dirt & scratches DISC SIZE: 22.7GB Runtime: 1:29:32 Aspect ratio: 1.78:1 Nice animated menu MPEG4 AVC DTS-HD MA 2.0 Lossless DELOREAN! Commentary "Made a Movie Lived to Tell" Featurette THE BLU ALSO INCLUDES: HELLFIRE BONUS PROMO FILM Runtime: 5:51 MPEG2 ~6MBPS (DVD quality) 1.33:1 BUT still some visible film grain despite this! Dolby Digital 2.0 192kbps Will watch it all the way through tonight, but this is one of the best looking DF/CR discs I've seen in a long time given the age and obscurity of the source from what I previewed. It's hard to see if you don't zoom in but at the bottom of the poster it says CONCORDE Pictures which is a part of (New Horizons/Roger Corman). Summer Camp Nightmare might have been one of the films that Shout Factory acquired recently when they purchased Roger Cormans film library. If this film gets a release It's more than likely that it would be from Scream Factory.
However Roger's Kids have gotten involved and they have sued their own parents and Shout Factory over the sale of the film library. This could take a long time to get resolved, who knows if we'll ever see this get a blu-ray release I hope we do though ! ![]() |

I received Primal Scream today...as I have said before DF has superior CS in terms of free; very fast shipping. They score 100% on that.
I want all labels releasing in Blu to do well and I have nothing against DF. He has done a good job getting noticed and promoting his label. Just some of the over the top trolling of customers needs to stop. Some of his FB followers are naive at best...but most of the people here are knowledgeable . It just creates bad will when nonsense is promoted. CR’s methods of dealing with complaints are NOT effective..that is why other labels sell more than Bill. Nobody here believes that Bill really puts anything OOP...he just plays games to artificially increase demand. Time to get off that narrative DF. Just my two cents ![]() Last edited by Blu Titan; 04-28-2018 at 04:19 AM. |

Is anyone having trouble making payments via Paypal? My Debit card keeps getting declined so I had to pay directly from my checking account. Happened just now while checking out at Dark Force and it kept happening yesterday at the Severin webshop.

My first order took two days and I received a shipping confirmation that same day the order was placed. This time my order was shipped the following day with a confirmation that day. I’ve yet to receive it and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday so I think it’s either lost or delayed somewhere.

I've heard about the lightning fast shipping, so I figured I would have gotten the confirmation already. No big deal, I'll just wait it out. |

I've made payments successfully to Severin, Arrow, and Diabolik via PayPal in the last 24 hours with no issues (two yesterday afternoon, one this morning).

I had a blast watching PRIMAL SCREAM last night. It's basically an early 80's no-budget attempt at a futuristic-noir thriller set in the distant mid 90's. There's a lot in this film that doesn't work. It can drag at times and the plot is convoluted. What worked for me was the fact that the filmmakers were so ambitious for their first film. The movie was clearly drawing it's main inspiration from BLADE RUNNER, and it was fascinating watching amateurs attempt to pull this off in and around the South Jersey area.
There's a lot to enjoy if you're a fan of low to no budget filmmaking. If you enjoy Don Dohler's early stuff, Fred Olen Ray's BIOHAZARD, or even Carpenter's DARK STAR, consider giving it a shot. I was actually impressed with some of what they were able to pull off, from a technical standpoint. They were working with no money, so they had to get pretty creative. You could really tell that they put a lot of hard work and passion into this, which makes me able to forgive many of the films flaws. I don't want to oversell the movie, it's definitely not for everybody. Since I'm familiar with the South Jersey/Philadelphia area, I found a lot of the regional flavor endearing - Atlantic City, Cape May, Stockton University, Philadelphia suburbs, etc. There's also a scene with Philadelphia hardcore band Sadistic Exploits performing in an A.C. Elks Lodge which brought a smile to my face. The Blu-ray itself looks quite good for what it is. It's true it's source with occasional damage here and there. Be sure to check out the extras, they are quite good. The commentary dives in to how the movie was made, it never drags and there's a lot of good info in there. Then there's a 45 minute documentary done by the director, MADE A MOVIE, LIVED TO TELL, that's well worth your time. There's also the 5 minute short HELLFIRE, which was the promo reel made to attract investors to the project. All in all a solid release from Dark Force and a movie I can see myself throwing on again on a lazy Sunday afternoon. |
