Am surprised by The Tree of Life artwork..

The designer did Under The Skin, Antichrist, The Revenent etc.... he could have done so much more... ah well...

And today we whiled away the wait with stupid, pointless conversation.

AKA The Old Method.

Really? Didn't involve more detective work? Searching the new names in the phantom pages...

The DVD set indeed seems to be OOP, but Criterion are still selling Love In the Afternoon in HD on iTunes... (and presumably streaming it through FilmStruck?)

I'm all over Smithereens, just because of the soundtrack and the era. That was the music of my youth.

The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez sounds like a really cool unsung title as well.

Of course, I'm definitely in for The Tree of Life and Heaven Can Wait.

Those were leaks, but to actually get official details, people still had to refresh the coming soon page until they were added.

All that phantom pages stuff is the new method. In much the same way I still refer the Star Trek: The Next Generation as 'the new one'.

The real old method was sitting around here yammering pointlessly and refreshing their page all day until the announcements dropped.

It was nice

I liked Tree Of Life and Im glad that we wont have people constantly asking for it, but that little movie is awesome and the soundtrack is indeed great! (and the movie is heavily inspired by Nights Of Cabiria)

Question: Is The Tree of Life worth a blind buy? I'm into art-house cinema, and I had a friend who wouldn't shut up about how beautiful it looks (which it does look nice from what I've seen), so would it be worth a blind buy?

Although, the cover sucks. Hopefully the film itself doesn't.

That Tree of Life cover might be the worst art Criterion has ever done considering the film's visual output. Just horrendous.

Probably in for Heaven Can Wait.

Intrigued by both Smithereens (for the soundtrack) and The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez (for Olmos)...

How's Richard Hell in this movie? His first record with the Voidoids is massive and oozes punk cool. Can I expect the same from him in this movie?
