The Wraith (1986) PG-13 movie on iTunes... actually the Rated R version?? - Blu-ray Forum

For the past few days the 1986 movie "The Wraith" has been on special for $4.99 in Tunes. I really enjoyed the movie when I first saw it but I haven't gotten it yet because of the rating.

I remember the movie being rated R but the version in iTunes is PG-13. I did search for more info and I found out that the movie is currently owned by Lionsgate which released a 'Special Edition DVD' of the movie in 2010. And if you check the movie out in iTunes it's the Lionsgate version being offered.

As it turns out the movie was indeed rated R when it was first released but later the movie was re-edited for a PG-13 version. But now here comes the interesting part.

The 'Special Edition DVD' was reviewed by IGN in March 2010 and contrary to the PG-13 rating stated on the box and disc, the movie is supposedly the R-rated version instead.

So this makes me wonder if the Lionsgate version in iTunes the same as their DVD release.

Is anyone able to verify if the iTunes PG-13 version is actually the R-rated version??

If anyone has both the Special Edition DVD and iTunes version, can you compare them to find out?
