CD Freaks presents: The Pioneer BDR-101A Blu-ray writer preview
Posted by Dan Bell on 03 August 2006 - 20:16 - Source: Pioneer

We are pleased to announce our preview of the Pioneer BDR-101A Blu-ray writer. Special thanks go out to Pioneer Europe NV, who were kind enough to send us their first Blu-ray drive. This exciting, next generation drive supports 2x BD-R/RE, 8x DVD±R, 4x DVD+RW/-RW and 2.4x/2x DVD+R DL/DVD-R DL writing.

In this preview look, Reviewer, Moderator Dee-27 has taken the Pioneer and given us some very good insight concerning this burners blue laser features. This includes the software package, reading performance, along with Blu-ray writing performance. But, she does not stop there and makes sure we can all take a look at the BDR-101A in action reading and writing to our favorite red laser medias, including dual layer discs.

For those of us new to this cutting edge, high capacity format, a brief yet informative introduction to blue laser technology has been included in the article. If you are interested in reading this article and discovering how well the Pioneer performs, then we urge you to head on over to this preview page and check out the findings. Once there, you will also find a convenient table, listing the complete specifications of the BDR-101A as well.

If after reading the preview, should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to visit this link in the CD Freaks forum, where we have already set up a dedicated discussion for this drive, monitored by the reviewer.
