I use my HTPC now as my main Blu-ray player, I send a 7.1 LPCM signal at 192khz to my Yamaha RX-V663 Receiver. What I have noticed - not only does my output get upconverted to 192khz by Vista, but DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and TrueHD 5.1 audio get matrixed to 7.1 by the Yamaha. The signal reads 7.1 PCM with all of the speakers lit up on the pannel. This is sounds just awesome to me! Have any of you noticed the Yamaha having the ability to matrix 7.1 from 5.1 LPCM signals? I have compaired the sound from my LG to that of my HTPC...the HTPC is now first string. I thinking about building another one! The Yamaha is an excellent prepro - I could image using one of the higher models in the Yamaha line!
