This way, all of the audience members can infer that this movie is taking place after the original and are ignoring the sequels. Because, the general audience walking into the theater to see this may be confused on where this film is taking place in the timeline of the series. Us hardcore fans may be the only ones that know that this film is ignoring the sequels.

I just think the movie needs to do something to make it obvious to the general audience where this film is taking place in the timeline and by opening up where the original left off, I think that could work.

I think you are overestimating the public awareness of the sequels. The original movie is a classic, the soapy convolutions of the further adventures of the Myers/Strode/Lloyd family is not something casual viewers have been keeping track of. And the actual fans of the franchise will know what the deal with the new movie is.

Actually you would be surprised. I have watched plenty of trailer reaction videos on youtube. And quite a few of them had people confused already.

I still can’t get over how this movie has the same title as the original film and remake, and we’re just supposed to accept it. It keeps me up at night.

I'll admit, it bothers me too. It's one of the few things that bothers me about this new film. But what can you do?

I dont think as much. From what I can tell. People tend to usually watch the one's with Jamie Lee Curtis. Any time she's involved, people go watch it. So far from what I've seen from people on youtube are people confused because they think she died (Resurrecrion) or those who are completely out of the loop and think Michael is still dead because she chopped his head off (H20).

What do you think would be a good title? I can’t really think of one. The ones that pop in my head sound cheesy: Halloween Returns, Halloween: Retribution, 40 Years Later. The ones with a colon after the main title followed by another word are overused. How about Halloween: Episode 2 - Attack of the Shape?

Here's the thing though, If they make a sequel to this film, Which is pretty much hinted at already, they have to add a subtitle to it anyways. Unless they just want to call every sequel from now on just "Halloween". Which would be absurd.

Yeah, it’s funny how Laurie killed Michael in H20, then Michael killed Laurie in Resurrection, and now they’re both alive again. How about the title Halloween: Resurrections?

I just hope we get the adult film parody HallowPeen and I guess it won’t be too taboo cause they aren’t siblings anymore, just two old people going at it like they do, but ones in a mask and the other a wig.

But for real if they did a sequel to this, it’d probably be with a subtitle, with no reference to a number. Like HallowPeen.

Instead of the Michael gets arrested theme I wish they would have went for something more frightening to motivate Laurie. The ending to the original was perfect. Michael disappeared. Imagine the fear knowing that the person that killed your friends was never found or captured? Instead I feel like we’ll get 45 minutes of a podcast crew teasing Michael with his own mask.

1. What you're suggesting has already been done multiple times throughout the series.

2. You're completely missing the point. Laurie isn't scared of Michael. She wants him dead.

But if Michael was never captured then it would be just like another H20, only twice as stupid. He just walks around like a hobo for 40 years and then suddenly decides to kill again in his retirement years? I prefer it to be a bit more realistic.

Except Halloween II never happened. Michael did not stalk Laurie at HMH, and he did not burn alive at the hospital.

I mean you can tell yourself whatever you'd like, but it wont make much sense story wise, when watching this new film.

And I would have been all in, for this film to take place after HII. Especially since I've always loved the sibling storyline. But I'm excited for this new direction.
