The Champ (1979)

Voted as one of the most emotional movies ever made, I don't see how this classic and touching father/son film was never released on bluray yet.

I remember my dad taking me to see this when it was first released, I was only 10 years old and we sat there, in the darkened theater and cried our eyes out together. This film has remained in my heart and my memory ever since then. I have it on VHS and even an HD digital copy from VUDU, but this film deserves to be released on bluray for other families to discover.

I have never found a child actor who can top the performance that Ricky Schroder delivered in this amazing film. I'm so sorry that he didn't get better films as an adult, because his acting talent is so raw and powerful.

Jon Voight and Fay Dunaway also deliver award-winning performances here, and when you mix all that talent, the stirring musical score and this tear-jerking story together....you end up with a film that will stick with you forever.

I SERIOUSLY hope to see this movie released on bluray one day.
