But doesn't it seem pretty dismissive of a brilliant show with a large and loyal fanbase to essentially say, "What came before was just practice"? Especially moving it from animation (an art form that's always been ghettoized as "kid's stuff" in America) to live-action? I mean, I love the
Avatar universe, and would love to see more of it, but what's the point of going over the same ground again, just in a different medium? ESPECIALLY after the abortion of the 2010 movie? Just saying, "We'll cast non-white leads now!" isn't really enough of an answer.
