See, I can make nonsensical posts, too.

A very exciting project. Nice to see the confirmation.

I hope they improve the book. I was excited for this, but the book felt too short and not as in depth as I would have hoped. Gonna re-read it soon.

I think you're one of the only people on the planet that feels that way about the book.

Yeah... a little disappointing but he may be too old for the role. I know Scorsese/DiCaprio and him all want to make a movie together so if it doesn't happen with this I'm sure it'll happen within a few years. But hopefully it happens with this.

From Eric Roth:

Quote:
He has been working on Scorsese’s film for “probably five years,” however.

“Martin is the most inventive man I’ve ever worked with — certainly, he encourages you to be the most imaginative and I have a good imagination… It’s set between 1920 and 1925, and I think it can be one of the last great Westerns. He wants to make one big Western — this will be the last of its kind, I promise you.”

Maybe I was misinformed, but I had no idea this is supposed to be a western. I thought it'd be "just" a thriller. An interesting development.

Probably not a western in a traditional sense considering the timeline and story, but western-ish.

Deadline talked to Roth again.

Quote:
Then, Killers of the Flower Moon, I think, is one of the great stories that one could tell. I think any good writer would do this justice; it’s such a powerful piece, and it’ll be Marty Scorsese basically doing a Western.

Things don’t happen always as you want, but I would say it would be late next summer, he’d start [shooting], early fall. I know how much [Scorsese] loves it, and I’m just sending literally this morning the last of this iteration of the script. Then, I’m sure we’ll start rewriting again.

probably this year because it coincides with the finishing of the irishman.

btw, i really hope dicaprio actually elevates a scorsese picture for once, because that has never happened in their five previous collabs. well, maaaybe in the aviator but that's about it. gangs of ny was all ddl, the departed had damon and wahlberg, shutter island was garbage anyway, and the wolf of wall street had jonah hill (bad film but jonah was great).
