Really.. Really.. Weird.
Okay, so my PS3 breaks down, hardware failure. I send it in for repair, and get back a refurb... I have a 22" Vizio 720p TV. I connect my PS3 to my TV through the HDMI cable and it detects optimal video settings, it says maximum resolution 1080p, and I go... "what?" because my tv can only do up to 1080i. So I hit the "Guide" button on my TV's remote which shows a little box on the screen that says which output your currently viewing and the resolution it is playing at, to my surprise it says HDMI 2 1080p!! What in the world? How?
