i can't say i don't like Dabo. he's a BAMA guy; born and raised. and he played at BAMA in the early 90s (was on the '92 championship team as a wide receiver). so he's still a good guy and will always be well-liked and welcomed around here.
This one is more enjoyable than the nailbiter before. I have a feeling we’ll meet Again!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

So Murray lost his Bowl game (to Alabama), and Tua is losing this game.....

meanwhile, 3rd place Heisman finisher Haskins (who should have won) balled out in his bowl game.

I’m not religious, but Dabo is everything that is good. Who wouldn’t want to play for him and give everything they have. I think anyone that goes through his program will come out a better person on the other side. What a great guy and a class act. Thank you Dabo!

Best team in NCAA after mid October showed up tonight and proved a lot of points.

Every single weakness that Alabama showed most of the season and esp Nov/Dec Clemson exploited and made pretty much every crucial play in every critical situation. Better on the field, better between the ears. Edit (I knew I was going to do that before the end of the season) Trevor Lawrence and that WR Ross were beyond outstanding. No real fluke plays, just sheer football dominance.

Years ago, before any championships, when I heard Dabo give his “Bring Your Own Guts” speech, I knew we would one day win it all under him. I had no idea it would be like this.

Sorry, I’ll stop now. It’s just I was only 8 years old when they won it all in 1981 and I didn’t really appreciate it. I know how quickly it can all go away and you will just dream about being relevant again, so I am not going to take any of it for granted, because you don’t know if it will happen again.

There are people who are easy to dislike, but I really like Dabo -- he seems honest, he seems to love his players, and appears to be doing it the right way. The fact that his Alabama roots run deep makes it a bit easier to take, but at least it feels OK that the loss wasn't fluky like Alabama's win last year (as much fun as that was) or even the nailbiting classics one last play win/loss like #1 and #2.

I literally go back to 60's Alabama teams and was in college during more than one of Bear's championships including the last two. If someone has to win it, I'm glad it was a Dabo team.

Final AP poll. I probably would have made the exact same top-5.

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Ohio St.
4. Oklahoma
5. Notre Dame

UCF finished at #11. Army made it to #19, which was good to see.

My opinion of Notre Dame definitely improved after last night.

The final SRS (Simple Rating System) number for Clemson is 28.78 for the season. This is an excellent statistic that takes into account point differential and strength of schedule. It's the highest number for any NCAA football team since USC in 1972, and greater than Miami 2001 and Nebraska 1995, both historically great teams.

I still have to say 2001 Miami is the greatest team I have ever seen. That's coming from a FSU fan.

I still think they probably are the best team in my lifetime. Especially knowing what those guys did in the NFL. They had 13 players who made a Pro Bowl in the NFL, 7 Super Bowl winners and 1 Hall of Famer. They had four players who became quality NFL RB's, of which Frank Gore is amazingly still playing.

Didn't really see them that much during that year. I think I was pretty down on college football at the time because Ohio State was coming out of the Cooper years and in transition at that time. I know that team produced a lot of NFL players and dominated Nebraska. 94-95 Nebraska was very dominant, the 05 Texas team was very good and 04 USC as well. 13 FSU sort of goes unnoticed sometimes but I remember that squad destroying just about everyone. Going undefeated is extremely hard so any championship team that did that automatically goes to the top of the list.

The problem in judging that 2013 Noles team was their weak schedule. They won every game by two TD's or more except the national title game, but they played one of the weakest schedules of any national champion in the modern era. Personally, I think the 1993 and 1999 Noles teams were better, even if the 93 team narrowly lost a game.

I remember the 1995 Nebraska team well. They clobbered everyone, including what was probably Spurrier's best team ever.

I've been watching since the early about 1991 and I'd rank the best teams.
1. Miami 2001
2. Nebraska 1995
3. Clemson 2018
4. Texas 2005
5. USC 2004
Honorable mention:
Florida 1996
Florida St. 1999
Ohio St. 2002 - the only team to beat the 2001-02 Canes.
Florida 2008
Alabama 2009

Edit - Adding Washington 1991 to honorable mentions. I always forget the but they were incredible. Miami winning the AP poll over them that year was a joke.
If we're talking non national champions I'd add Penn St. 1994, screwed out of the national title. Paterno's best team by far.
