The Dark Knight - A Good Movie to convince someone to switch to blu-ray?

After having had the disc a couple of months and watching the film several times, i've come to conclusion that THE DARK KNIGHT is not a demo disc. There are some extremely impressive moments with the IMAX material yet and still this is not a consistent transfer. First of all the transfer is darker than standard, therefore obsureing details, due to this it has some inconsistent contrast in some segments.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad transfer, it's just not a home run that it should have been!

I'd almost say the audio is reference except for the fact we know it was down-rezzed to 16bit.
