Well for one, how responsive is it when you press, say, volume or pause? Is it immediate? I would imagine it is, but I just want to make sure. Also, how does it charge and how long does a charge last?

By the way, I called Best Buy and they offered to let me exchange my Harmony 550 and pay the difference to get the Harmony 1, which is currently 212.00 there. That would bring the price down to 160. Not the greatest deal, but I was impressed. I've had the Harmony 550 since early December, and they'll just take it back. Not bad, Best Buy.

It used to take about .75 of a sec to respond, now it's almost immediate (firmware improved this alot) , I'm sure there are real numbers out there. It has a "dock" that it sits upright in. I charge mine about once a week, I keep the brightness as low as possible, but the display is still nicely lit.

I was just in my local Circuit City and they had tons of Harmony One remotes at $190, which is about the lowest I've seen it online for.

Default HARMONY 880 - Backlit?

Hey guys,
I can't tell from Amazon or other places if the KEYS themselves are backlit at all or just the screens. Also, I know the Harmony One Lights up when you pick it up (Great feature, right?!), and was wondering if anyone out there has info on this and any other info on this model. Not sure which one but am thinking of upgrading. My 670 is either on the fritz, or needs updating (& I can't find the damn USB Cable to test it!). I assume this is a Superior upgrade to the 670 anyway. ;-)

(Reply here of PM me, whatever's easier).
Thx.

The keys and the screen are both backlighted.

I'm pretty sure it lights up when you pick it up since the feature is in the lower models like the 520, 550 (but it's not perfect...).

Logitech is replacing my 720 because one of the activity buttons on the side of the screen is not working. Does anyone know if they will send another 720, or since they are discontinued, what they will replace it with?

For those of you looking, there is a way to get an 880 or One brand new for $125 plus shipping. PM me if you want the info. No this is not a scam.

Mods, if this post if out of line feel free to delete it, or send me a PM and I'll remove it myself.

Thanks.

Just programmed/installed my One over the weekend and this thing is amazing.

I had my doubts as I'm the type that loves all the extra buttons and features the supplied remotes have. Not only will you not need those extra buttons once it's programmed, but if you do they are very easy to find on the One.

I spent a little extra time downloading station logos so all you have to do is press the picture of the logo and it goes to that station.

On top of all this, the wife who before hated the surround sound and remotes, now loves this remote and won't let me use it as it is now hers (according to her that is)

Need some help on my 880 that I haven't found the answer myself, yet:

Does this thing have a "global" volume control?

What I mean is the volume is controlled through my AVR. Works fine as long as I stay in an "activity". But if I leave an activity and select "lights" for example and dim the lights, the volume no longer works. I have to go back to Devices>AVR to get back volume control. Same as if I need something specific in the STB, I lose volume control. The old cable box universal remote had something called "Global Volume Control" that even though you switched devices, the volume key still operated the AVR.

Go in to the Harmony settings and you should be able to add volume control on the touch display for each activity. Just click "settings" on each activity and "custom buttons" I think. Then add "volume up" and "volume down" and choose your AVR as the controller.

I have all of my volume controls under the DVR activity (TV, DVR, and AVR) with the AVR as the main one and the other two under the additional buttons. It's quite handy for listening to just the TV speakers.
