Can you tell us something about the picture quality of "Cold Sweat"?

Is Bronson´s T-shirt at the beginning dark blue or black?

Here´s the first review of the US-bluray of "Rider on the Rain":

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDRev...in_blu-ray.htm

Result: the French version looks much better than the US-version. That´s no surprise for me. I expected that.

It's a damn shame the US version looks so inferior. Were the same differences apparent on the Studio Canal DVD? It's been a long time since I watched mine ...... been waiting on this release.

Is the US cut the superior of the two?

If so, that really is a shame.

What?? The FRENCH release is the clear winner.

I wasn't referring to the strengths of the transfers, but the actual cuts...

Because I phrased my question in such a way for it to be digestible by those with a functioning brain.

Do you have any input there, or should I refer the rest of your comments on this matter to the internet dumpster?

The French cut runs two minutes longer and has all of the actors speaking French. I've only seen the U.S. cut, but, from what I've read, the additional two minutes in the French cut adds nothing to the film.

So in other words, no.

It's alright, human beings with the capacity for abstract thought bailed you out.

Cheers!

Well, I wouldn't sign that "capacity for abstract thought" in your case, but I do believe you might be a human being after all though. Two thumbs up.

That depends on how you define 'adds'. In terms of plot, nothing, but in terms of performance and tempo there's a distinctly noticeable difference. There's no additional footage beyond a slightly longer and more detailed end credits sequence, more a case of a slightly different tempo (the film runs about four minutes longer, but part of that is longer end credits) and much better performances from the French and Italian co-stars. Marlene Jobert's mother is also allowed to be a bit warmer towards her in the French version.

Is there anybody who got already the "Cold Sweat" Blu-ray and can tell us something about the picture quality?

Keep in mind that the Japanese and Spanish blu-ray both look aweful.
