An update to the schedule on HTF suggests the 2nd July will be a special day for Belmondo fans:

It's not just the color issue for me, the French version exhibits much more fine detail as well

I'm in for those last two. Already have the SC Melville collection but there must have picks up for film fans.

Should we really be giving that number out so freely?

Great, especially Le professionnel! Love this film & the score by Ennio Morricone which is one of his best in the '80s.

My compliments to Kino-Lorber for the care they took with JIVARO 3-D. This is an
outstanding transfer. The color is rich. Registration and alignment are exactly where
they should be. The depth is deep even when the audience space is filled up. I've never
seen better stereoscopic photography, and it's so easy on the eyes one quickly forgets
the glasses.

3-D films from the golden age need a commentary to put them into perspective. This is
the first 3-D film to have a commentary. Our friends at 3-D Film Archive talk about the
technical aspects of 3-D filming on this particular film as well as providing an historical
context. It is important to continue the practice with future 3-D releases. Kudos to
Kino-Lorber for working so well with the 3-D Film Archive. This 3-D blu-ray will end up
as one of the highlights of the year.

If anyone is on the fence about trying a vintage 3-D film, JIVARO 3-D is a good one
to start with. Next to HOUSE OF WAX 3-D, of course.

Big Thumbs Up on Kino’s release of An Innocent Man. Transfer looks obviously nicer than Mill Creek’s from what i can tell. Great interview with David Rasche also! I look forward to listening to the commentary track soon. I absolutely adore this film!

Hey Kino Lorber Insider - Would there be any possibility of a Jan Svankmajer blu-ray collection in the future? That would be quite the release if you could do all or at least most of his films with a nice booklet.

Honestly, if they didn't include the French cut I'd wager most people would never notice the green push on the US cut. This is almost certainly how StudioCanal decided to color time them (though I could be wrong on that).

Based on these screenshots I'd say the French cut may even have a bit too little green in its color timing, looking a tad too pink (but obviously less pink-pushed than the US is green-pushed).

What are you talking?

I own the Japanese blu-ray and it looks stunning(French cut). There´s no comparison between the picture quality of the French cut and the US cut.

If you want to watch this movie in English, you don´t have a choice

The movie is very good. One of the best movies Bronson ever made.

With regard to Rider on the Rain - KL produced both the English movie and the French movie, right? Are there two different masters (ie a French master and an English master that is possibly in worse shape?) that could potentially explain the difference in picture quality?

I'm saying thst without something to compare to color timing issues often go unnoticed/uncommented on. Very few people would have the Japanese release to compare it to. Having both cuts on this release draws much more attention to the differences in coloring.

It's the great Roger Corman's birthday today, and since Kino has released some of his films, I was wondering if it was possible his film THE INTRUDER with William Shatner might be available for a Blu-ray release?

It's a great film that has never really had any good release on DVD. I believe it might be public domain, but I thought it might be worth a request!
