Nothing today... guess maybe tomorrow and I'll email them. Blah

Followed my dad to his mechanic today, something is wonky with the back breaks on his 69 Mach 1. This guy and his team are very good at what they do, and he's the only person my dad trusts to work on his car. They also share many of the same interests: guns, fast cars, hunting etc. I was driving dad back home and he told me to pull into the liquor store on the corner just down the road, then he bought us both a bottle of Jim Beam. It's these little, simple things in life I enjoy the most. My dad is a great guy, but sometimes I feel like I haven't pushed myself hard enough to even live up to his basic standards. He goes through life like anything can happen at any moment and he'll just deal with it as is. My 60yr+ old father is cooler than I am.

your dad sounds like a smart man. and he's right...

anything can happen at any moment. you can try to prepare yourself for it, but there will always be something you didn't see coming. so just deal with it as it comes, the rest will work itself out. no need to stress over shit you can't control.

I had to renew my drivers license today, and found myself setting next to a 99-year-old man that recently lost his wallet for the first time ever.

He's a WWII veteran, his son's a Vietnam veteran. Big towering guy too. Still on the road. Just there to get his license replaced. I was in awe of the raw manliness.

Update: a representative from that area just called me and said I had 5 or 6 personal packages waiting for me to be picked up. I wonder if this is a new rule..? I hope not, but it means I drive there (just a few miles away) then that's fine. I just don't want them to stop allowing personal mail being delivered to work.

I only do it on my movie and video game purchases. I don't trust people enough to let it sit in my mailbox all day until I get home.

That is good news I wonder why they waited this long for there to be multiple packages

What are the chances Jaws will get the 4K treatment? After watching Alien in 4K, I can't help but think about Jaws getting the same treatment.

Spielberg has already released Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List and Jurassic Park in 4K. Can we get Jaws next? Next year marks the 45th Anniversary! Studios like Anniversary's... hope they don't wait for 50th.

Also Ready Player One and The Post, but those are newer releases. I think they've also announced War of the Worlds.

I think Jaws will happen next year for its anniversary. I'd expect most of his movies to show up on UHD at some point.

I’ve gotta switch my mood around.
Things had been going well, personally, but I’ve hit a bump.
Work is still great so I should be thankful.

Wouldn't surprise me if they do since it costs the company money to do that. I've been surprised to see how many people send packages to their work address.

I'm assuming you don't have the the locked mailboxes and parcel lockers in a community area like many places and new developments have... at least for the USPS.

But they are still deliverying inter-office mail, so essentially there's no added expense of sending my packages between the two work buildings. It's okay though. It was an easy pickup and no hassle at all.

And no, my house has a standard mail box.

The second in command here at The Mine is leaving today for good. It isn’t sudden, it’s been in the works for a few months.
I’m a bit relieved because he and I have had some heated discussions throughout our time together here. I have no doubt that he has had thoughts of canning me.
I’m hoping that I get along with the Fella who has replaced him. He’s direct and seems serious about doing things properly. That’ll be a welcome change.

After waiting for several months to come back in stock, finally got my order in for some inexpensive (relatively speaking) diffusors for my HT room:

Wondering if my current job is worth the headache My district and regional manager seem very supportive and I do like the job, but I feel like our client has unrealistic expectations on what we should be accomplishing in our 10 hours there. So between that and the suck pay I’m not sure it is worth the amount of stress it is giving me at the moment

in my opinion, no job is worth stress. that's why i don't work where i'm not happy....no matter how much it pays.
