Well, if he had the power to cast but then is told no. Turns out he doesn't have the power. So... you're wrong there.

And maybe, he doesn't want to cast a Latino character for this? If he was forced for something at this point in his career, he'd let it go. He'd have no issue w/ this. It's GdT at this point in his career.

Apparently this is based on a book. Was made into a film w/ Tyrone Power in 1947. Interesting project for GdT. Kind of fun to see him do something out of his norm, if you will. Not what I personally would want from him but I'm game either way, so sure.
