I'm not concerned about the scan whatsoever- unless Toei is using a 2 decade old telecine, which I doubt- it should be gorgeous and full of detail. What I am concerned with is the restoration. Having seen their treatment of classics being all over the place- Q-Tec Upscales, FORS processing of an HD scan, HD remaster done right, SD BD, and a few other methods, it means there's a good chance such a good scan will go to waste and be DNR'd. (Think of the new Platoon BD, or Terminator 2 UHD- nice 4K scans ruined by excessive DNR)
So I'd be skeptical until screenshots or a trailer comes out. |

Hakujaden is one of the most important anime films of all time. Due to its legacy alone it deserves a proper release- same with Horus Prince of the Sun (that should be remastered again- the Q-Tec'd BD ain't pretty).

Looking at Fullmetal Panic Invisible Victory AU version, suspect this will be the version Anime Limited use since it's Region B locked.
Episodes are about 6.5GB a piece, 6 episodes spread across 2 BD50s. Looks like a clone of Funimation but as far as I can tell apart from a bit of minor banding in some darker scenes the PQ is really good? https://imgur.com/a/NiotuwP |

Oh it does but unless you pause and look closely for it I'd say it's not too noticeable. If only Psycho Pass and Steins;Gate could look like this.

On another completely different note, as MVM are bringing Eromanga Sensei to the UK I suspect they're going to use Madman's Blu-ray master so I was wondering if anyone has that Australian version could provide any detailed info on whether or not it's as good as the Aniplex version. |

This is aimed specifically at professorwho:
I just received my UK copy of Paprika, and I'd like to provide some stats but I'm a total moron. Please help. ![]() All kidding aside, when I go into bdinfo, I get an error that says "disc is copy protected" or something along those lines. It doesn't seem to be generating anything on the bitrate graph either. Can someone provide detailed instructions on how to generate bdinfo, I can provide stats for both UK and US discs if someone gives some step by step directions for a total novice. |

With a MakeMKV full disc backup you need to move folders before doing a BDInfo scan. The root of the backup has a MakeMKV folder which contains the AACS folder. Copy the AACS folder to the root and delete the MakeMKV folder. Otherwise the disc size in the report is incorrect. |

Here’s some guides to stuff other than BDinfo that I’d recommend doing instead:
Ripping discs via MakeMKV+Bitrate viewer How to take good screenshots Never really used BDinfo, so I personally can’t help, but I’m sure there’s some decent tutorials out there. EDIT: Just do with NLScavenger said. |

There are easier methods for screenshots such as MPC BE/HC with madVR, but this is what I prefer. |

Alright, so I'm still having trouble. I created a backup of the disc using makemkv, so now I have a folder called "Paprika" that contains three subfolders: AACS, BDMV, CERTIFICATE and a .dat file. How do I use bdinfo to interpret this folder? Sorry for my lack of knowledge here, I've not used this apllication extensively.
