RUMOR - Fantastic Four Reboot Aiming for 2022

https://mcucosmic.com/2019/06/05/rum...ming-for-2022/

Today The GWW is reporting that Marvel is targeting a 2022 release date for the MCU Fantastic Four reboot. I can back up their report as I have heard from two separate and independent sources that they are targeting a release around that year. It’s said to be a pretty high priority within Marvel Studios due to what the title means to the company. Fantastic Four was Stan Lee’s first superhero creation in the 1960s and kicked off the Marvel we know today.

Marvel is said to have an in-house director ready with a pitch, which is set in the 1960s and skips the origin of the famous heroes. The GWW’s report says they believe it to be Peyton Reed, which would make a lot of sense as back in 2003 he pitched a 60’s Fantastic Four movie to Fox prior to them making the Tim Story version.

There are currently three MCU movies set for release in 2022, and the July 29th date (which normally would be an Ant-Man movie) seems to make a lot of sense for the debut of Marvel’s First Family in the MCU.

FF being before X-Men makes sense. 3 years from this summer wouldn't be out of the question either.

Is this the one where David Harbour is rumored to be playing Ben Grimm/The Thing?

With it being set in the 60's sounds very interesting. And I think we all pretty much knew Marvel would do something with the F4 first, so that's no surprise.

Looking forward to hearing more.

He's already gonna be in Black Widow so I don't think that'll be happening.

I never had an opinion of this, but I have seen some fast casting of John Krasinski for RR, and I could totally see Marvel going that route.

Krasinski for Reed Richards
Jenna Fischer for Sue Storm
B. J. Novak as Human Torch
Steve Carell as the voice of The Thing

and

Rainn Wilson for Doctor Doom
