Their site says dhl ships it then transfers to post office for delivery. Did you not pay anything to DHL or the post office in Canada?

The UK studiocanal version looks different in packaging with more flaps and a slipcover.

Thanks for those. Luckily I still managed to cancel my 21,95 € wowhd order - I'll just happily wait for the German steel now. (which I wisely didn't cancel yet)

re. complaining about the cheap packaging: I think it's actually fine for the money, but I for one am willing to spend more to get at least decent packaging. And this here doesn't qualify in my book - it doesn't at all.

Just got back from seeing this at the Seattle Cinerama - what an experience, glad I went! Can't wait to check this release out. (but man, I wanted a nice sturdy slipcover like 2001)

Just ordered the US edition from Wowhd. I prefer to have the US edition than the EU one. Remember the studiocanal in europe having half the audio bitrate that the US disc because of having to include other audio options. And it came down to less than £25.

Preordered the US one for under $40NZ from Wow. Meanwhile the Australian/NZ release is being split into two separate 3-disc sets, which will undoubtedly cost more than that each

Despite this being released on the 27th, and having two-day shipping, it now states that it will arrive around the 6th of Sept. I wonder if this already backordered or something. I'm glad I had it pre-ordered already, though.

I am not. I’m saying that the original blu-ray that was released by studiocanal had a lower bitrate than the US disc to accommodate for the german track.
Check here:

Not saying this will happen. Saying I don’t want to risk this, so I got the US edition that was also cheaper than what the UK was going for when amazon had it. Zoom still has it at £30 so I’m very happy with my choice.

yep cheers for the info and heads up, unfortunately i have the steelbook preordered, else i'd do the same, and not sure i want the added expense or either doing as you have and sticking the discs in the steelbook, or ordering from BB

I've ordered from them over a dozen times in the last couple of years and I've never paid anything in shipping or taxes. They do take a little longer to arrive though, so keep your expectations in check in regards to getting things ASAP. But for the free shipping and fact that they actually carry titles that aren't otherwise available in Canada (or are insanely expensive in Amazon) makes it well worth the wait (for me). At this point it looks like the only place that's listing the Godzilla Shows Criterion set, for instance.

Actually, I've received mine faster than expected, recently Glory for example. Let's see how long they take for this.
