Except that goes along with referring to "the nut house" as a place other than the one they're in... but if they were in the asylum they'd be in the nut house. Not to mention, it seems unlikely that patients in an asylum would have illegal drugs...

I love the packaging. And I would love having Pt. 8 of "The Return" on 4k UHD. I already own the first "Complete Mystery" blu-ray, as well as the first "The Return" blu-ray as well...

But, with other releases coming out, two trips coming this fall, and other life expenses in general, I can't justify the price for essentially just the fancy packaging and a single episode on 4k. (I know the pilot is also on 4k, but I'm a bit less excited/concerned about that on UHD)

I've only gotten into Twin Peaks in the last few years - watched the original series shortly before The Return premiered - and after perusing this thread, looking at the new extras offered, and seeing the price point of both A to Z and the television collection, I just now pulled the trigger on ordering the extremely cheap UK 10-disc Entire Mystery set. I had been putting off that purchase in the hopes that the US would eventually get a re-release, since our set has long been OOP and is super expensive used.

Unfortunately, the new extra material on A to Z doesn't justify the increased cost IMO, and I don't plan on getting a 4K player, so that disc's of no use to me. I'd get the television collection, but then I'd just have to buy the Criterion Fire Walk with Me, leading to a total cost of over $100 that way too. This way I got the original series plus FWWM for cheap, and will pick up the first release of The Return down the road when I see a sale.

That’s what I ended up doing. £14 for The Entire Mystery and £25 for The Return.

Ha! You actually just ended up indirectly helping me there, as it turns out I had been looking at the "special packaging" version of UK's Return set instead of the cheaper one. Went ahead and bought it, so just like that I have the whole series on Blu. I am pleased.

So i definitely have decided that the Television series box is something that I don’t need because of prior purchases. I’m not much interested in the Road House full performances or the postcards or acrylic figurines. Are we certain that there is going to be 6.0 hours of newly released behind the scenes material? Because if that isn’t so, and the only other new extras (besides the 4K versions which i don’t really care about) is the new interviews with Kyle/Sherilyn and Harry/Kimmy, that won’t be enough to merit the $$ for me.

Funny, a 4K remaster of the Pilot is worth the entire cost of the box alone.

Boy, are you in for a treat! Discovering Twin Peaks via the original series and Fire Walk with Me was mind-blowing enough, but you get season 3 on top of that. It'll be one massive marathon of brilliance.
