As the days go by, I am debating a PRIME membership, since you get access to there Music/Video might not be a bad deal. Especially with Christmas season fast approaching.

Yeah, I'm due to renew just before Black Friday for mine... I think for $75/year it's worth it.

The BB I visited yesterday did not have Stand By Me. I think they barely even had Secret Life of Pets 2 and Godzilla on shelves.

As for Amazon, well I've signed up for Prime trial and they've screwed up twice now in 3 orders. Shipped a box early August which was supposed to arrive before I went away on vacation. Nothing. "Please wait". Came back from vacation 10 days later. Nothing. Tracking says it never moved from Edmonton. OK. Call them. 10 minutes later I have a reorder. It arrives next day. Ordered 2 CDs. One arrived Monday. Second was supposed to arrive yesterday. Nothing.

I like how, in anticipation of tomorrows VIP and Labour Day Weekend sales, they've upped the prices of their 4Ks so they can lower them again.

Prices before yesterday used to start at $14.99 for 4Ks, but as per their ad, "Starting at $15.99!" and the lowest currently on their site is $16.99

Also the Captain Marvel Steelbook has jacked back up to $44.99, where it has been $29.99 for the past month or so...

Looking at some sale prices in-store today. S3 of DC LoT is now $16.99. A lot of 4K are 24.99 from The Meg to MI to DC and Marvel.

There is also a rolling dump bin at DF Meadows location. $9.99 and under. Titles like Sudden Death. Cape Fear. Andromeda Strain. Nolan Batman movies. Beethoven. Duel. Serenity. Hard Target. Mallrats. MacArthur. Jaws 2. Watchmen DC. Family Man. Mallrats. Frighteners 15th. The Thing. Etc.

Has anyone found Apocalypse Now 4K 40th Anniversary Edition?
(seen photos, looks like a stunning release and bang for your buck)

Nothing on Amazon.ca or Bestbuy.ca, haven't tried in stores @ Best Buy yet.

I believe it was released yesterday?

It’s not getting released here. It’s a Lionsgate 4K release in the US, and there’s rarely (never?) a Canadian release of those. I had the same issue with Hostiles on 4K. You’ll have to import it or go to the States to get it.

It appears that Apocalypse Now: Final Cut 4K is an Apple iTunes exclusive in Canada. No physical media and not on Google Play, either.

I'm worried a similar thing might start happening with WB releases of older titles, too. The 1980s/90s Batman movies in 4K were hard to come by here. Best Buy never carried them. I originally saw them at Sunrise and London Drugs (4K+Blu-Ray edition), but the former doesn't seem to have stock anymore where I live. Now Amazon.ca has finally started selling these titles (4K+Blu-Ray+Digital Copy).

I haven't seen any announcements/preorders for The Shining 4K in Canada, which is another I'm eagerly anticipating. I'm thinking this is gonna get the same treatment as Batman.

I've also been worried about both Apocalypse Now and The Shining since that lousy Canadian release of those Batman movies. Too many 4K catalog releases are requiring importing.

It is concerning, but last I checked eOne had the rights to Apocalypse Now here and they haven’t done a 4k release in a while (at least over a year). As for the Batman and Shining situations, that is a bit more concerning as those are Warner, so they should just be day and date with the US as there’s no change in distributor.

Has anyone gotten the Rocketman Steelbook? Is it with the same art as BB in the US, or is it as shown on BB Canada website?
Thanks

So, bestbuy.ca is releasing their Rocketman steelbook here but not their Godzilla? Seriously? Ugh.

Edit: Not that there's anything wrong with Rocketman, it's just that Godzilla was a bigger movie at the box office, so I find that surprising and very random.

4K sales in Canada are brutally low. This is why eOne and other studios have been pulling back support here. The last eOne new release 4K was Jigsaw and their last catalogue 4Ks were The Punisher & Punisher: War Zone. Sales were poor, so they stopped. Warner at least issues their 4Ks in Canada, but Warner Bros. Canada doesn't exist anymore. Fox releases have been here and there.

Isn't The Shining Warner? That's not out anywhere here yet and it's been up for PO for a while in the US.
