And it's a port to boot (and from memory, I think Mario Kart 8 was the best-selling game on Wii U as well). It'd be pretty ironic if Mario Kart 8 winds up being the best selling game for two generations running. :P I was really excited about it during the Switch's launch due to the drought of games (while now I'm drowning in them!), but I am more than ready for a new installment (though I dread having another Mario Kart game that holds content ransom behind DLC).

It may not be the most "deserving", but it's certainly the most content-rich and accessible to date (accommodating players of virtually all abilities, which is such a welcome touch!). Similarly, I believe NSMB Wii outsold the Galaxy games even though the Galaxy games were so much more ambitious (and significantly more costly to produce).

Mario Kart has been the best selling game on Nintendo going back like 4 systems now. It's universally loved and probably the most well-known couch multiplayer game. That's why it continues to sell gangbusters.

With it selling so well, I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't tried their hand at more DLC for it, adding new tracks or racers. I would certainly be interested.

I haven’t played Mario Kart in about a year with all the other games to play but I would absolutely grab some DLC. Its shocking they haven’t put some out especially since there is no way Mario Kart 9 will happen any time soon.

Nintendo did say in early August 2018 and again in late September 2018 that they weren’t done adding to the game. Not sure what’s going on. (BTW, they weren’t referring to the the LABO crap that was released before those statements)

Only Black Friday gams I bought were Shadow of the Tomb Raider $24 and the season pass for Mortal Kombat 11 on the PSN Store. I stopped buying cheap games and having a backlog and just at most buy one IR two things to play next. I’ll play a Tomb Raider when I finish Death Stranding and MK11 I’m always just picking up and playing every now and then.

Switch wise I’m still chipping away at Dragon Quest 11 S and winter buy anything until it’s done. Will probably grab either Links Awakening or Luigi’s Mansion 3. Or Animal Crossing if DQ takes me that long.

Your profile lists your last 20 or so games played time. I just added that up plus the ones not on the list anymore like Odyssey and Rabbids that I remembered the time.

There's no way in hell Metroid Prime 4 makes 2020. I'd be surprised to see it by the end of 2021 to be honest.

I played New Leaf on 3DS and didn't care for it. Bayonetta doesn't do it for me either. We'll get a Direct soon I bet, after the holiday season.
