However, the blu-ray edition includes both cuts the same as does the 4K combo pack. The blu-ray cover art states that plainly along the bottom of the front cover and so does the product page here on blu-ray.com:

Yeah, I got confused. It's the 4K DISC that will NOT be getting the DC version just the BD and UHD streaming version.

Just Warner Bros. being cheap and confoozing people in the bargain.

To be clear, both disc editions include both cuts, but the director's cut is only found on the blu-ray disc.

This is a question most of us ask in art school, when bad photoshopped movie posters started slowly replacing hand painted and well designed ones

Just finished the 1-3, season 8 of Game of Thrones on BD. Had more engaging immersive audio (Atmos) than many recent tent-pole movies. The folks responsible at Disney ought to go into hiding. But they will not, they will just all the way to the bank.

Just finished the series on 4K and I have to say the audio gets better towards the end. If I wanted to demo the importance of a center channel, it would be Peter Dinklage’s voice coming out of it, as this mix is one of the best I have heard for dialogue. And yes, dragons flying over your head showing off Atmos are also pretty cool.

Once the holidays are over and everyone, but me , goes back to work, I plan to start my Game Of Thrones marathon from beginning to end. I have the final season on 4K disc (the only other season even offered on 4K disc is season 1) so I will wrap the series up quite nicely.

Have you seen any season yet, or are you starting at the beginning with a fresh set of eyes?

I stopped watching when season 3 was originally aired on HBO, so it will almost feel like I am watching it for the first time and I literally will be from that point onward.

This thread has been quiet of late; I guess we have all been too busy playing with our Christmas toys to bother with posting. I hope was good to each of you.

It is now New Year's Eve and I want to wish all of you, even those of you whom I annoy to no end, a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

2019 was a tumultuous year for me, but it looks like I'll be here in 2020 to converse with you anew. Everything good that I wish for myself in the coming New Year I also wish for each of you.

Likewise!!

Added several disc to the shelves. Added a Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 to the hardware side of things and procured another used MX-980 remote. About the only plus for the Shield is Atmos and more apps than the Sony UBP-X1000. Checked a few movies on Amazon, Google and VUDU. Remains a CF, as in one provider may have Atmos for a given title, another may have DD+ 5.1 for the same title.

Looking into importing Open Range because it is not available for DVD2HD and the thought of $18 for the streaming HD version is repulsive.

I’m a proponent of physical media until it’s advantageous to choose digital.
For example, recently I picked up...
- Ringu for $5 since the Blu Ray is $20 and doesn’t include a digital copy.
- The Warriors for $5 since it includes both the theatrical and directors cut while the North America Blu Ray release includes only the directors cut and no HD audio option.
- Enter The Dragon for $5 since the remastered Blu Ray never drops under $30.
- Pumping Iron for $5 because no North American Blu Ray release
