Somewhat obscure film, and thus HIGHLY under-appreciated. One of my personal favorites finally made it to Blu-ray a couple of months ago. Terrible cover, though. The original one-sheet isn't great, but better than the studio art.

My 3-disc Criterion blu-ray case came in the mail a few weeks ago and I'm looking to store my 30th anniversary edition of Blade Runner discs into it. Would anyone on here be at all interested in tackling this request? I'd also be interested in Blade Runner 2049 getting the Criterion case treatment.

Was kinda bummed that Severin didn't use the original US/UK poster art for either side of their sleeve so I decided to put this one together...

Hello everyone. I just started messing around with Photoshop 2020 and I am doing some testing with bluray covers. However, there is one thing that I cannot figure out for the life of me. Can anyone help me with how you can fit the poster on the front of the cover without having bars on the side and not having to zoom in and crop it? I don't know how studio covers do it unless they have a larger image that we cannot access.

Well... you can't... It's smple math, you can't put a rectangle into another rectangle with differnt aspect ratios without either cropping, adding bars or stretching. When you see 'poster'-art on commercial Blu-ray covers, they have been reformatted/redesigned to the aspect ratio of a blu-ray cover, often changing the size of the titles and other elements. Cropping elements, photoshopping objects and maybe moving people closer together. etc. Text is almost always bigger on covers contra real posters. The studios have all the elements, the original photos, the text-templates etc. You on the other hand, maybe only have a scanned poster and therefore have to be somewhat more creative in how you crop and compose and re-design based on what you have. Embrace the challenges. Good luck
