Wonder how much this will be over here in Canada. Probably a lot. Still, super excited for this! I'll be getting it no matter what. Now, if only I can sell my other Gamera blu rays in time!

I'm that douchebag that only wants Gamera the Brave.
Why not just buy the Media Blasters BD then?

We're only into Feb and there's already a fair number of highly anticipated multi-title sets with release dates in the next few months or rumored to be released in the near future that could vie for "Release of The Year." It's looking like a great year for deep, niche genre titles.

Arrow also has a 50% off sale at Barnes and Noble the runs alongside the Criterion one.

And since you mentioned that, maybe even the short Gamera 4: Truth. It's a fan film, but Daiei / Kadokawa did allow some limited public screenings of it in Japan. It's not official canon, and may set a bad legal precedent, but I'd like to see it.

One, it's OOP, and therefore expensive. Two, it has a botched English track. I know you don't care about those, but many folks do.

Who knows if they will do that? Even if they don't, the aftermarket prices on OOP previous editions should come down.

Hopefully this isn't TOO limited. Will hold out for B&N sale like the Godzilla box set.

I'm a bit surprised there's no indication on how many sets are being made at this price point unless I've missed it. Any idea how many of these things are being produced?

Of late, Arrow hasn't been disclosing the quantity of their limited edition box sets.

I guess I'll be shocked if one of the crowd doesn't hit $100 by Release date.

There may not be standalone editions, but there might be a standard edition boxset minus the booklet and hardback book etc for a slightly cheaper price in a year or so

Sci-fi Japan article shows more artwork from the set, including Gyaos.
But the juiciest part
"And we’ve got more tokusatsu releases lined up for later in the year too!”"

Art is subjective, but am I the only one that feels the box looks a little..boring? I don't know what it is, perhaps its just the dull grey color, but it doesn't really do a lot for me. It's like the opposite of Criterion's Godzilla really, which kind of went overboard with colors in comparison. The artwork of Gamera himself is very cool though, it's just the rest of the box design that I feel could look a little better.
