Default The Twilight Zone

I've watched several episodes on the new series of The Twilight Zone (featuring Jordan Peel) and I have a few thoughts.

I was cautiously optimistic after the first episode but after that it descends into an oddly heavy handed campaign for the obvious lefty talking points (black lives matter, me too, Trump etc). If these issues are important to you then you may enjoy how the shows beats viewers over the head with them but for me it's very distracting. What's weird is that's it's so front and centre and ham-fisted that I can't tell if it's meant to support these issues or mock them. Political subtext isn't a big problem for me but in this case it's the central theme of the show. At times it's like watching a public information commercial. Like those old ones about looking both ways when crossing the road or drink driving.

I couldn't bring myself to see this through to the end. I like my subtext to be subtle. In this case it's not even a subtext but literally the plot.
