Yeah, there's a number of editions which are kinda hidden on the top shelf. I've got loads more Laserdiscs stacked behind the one that's visible, as well as a few vinyl and the deluxe DVD set with the screenplay, poster, and lobby cards.

It's a good'un, and quite rare.

Here's hoping Warners deliver unto us a lovely 40th Anniversary Edition in 2022.

I think what I want more than anything is for the archival versions to be presented in 4K, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Warners did the heavy lifting for this film back in 2007 and everything since has essentially consisted of repackages. The Shining 40th AE proves that WB UK aren't averse to double-dips even on this format, so we'll likely get the existing discs with some new tat.

But I'm a BR *****, so I'll gobble it up.

You're right of course, Warners' M.O. has long to been to just do a disc and then repackage it over and over and over and over and over again.

I haven't kept all the editions of BR that I've bought but I've picked it up at least 18 times on various formats over the last 20 years or so:
[Show spoiler]UK widescreen VHS, UK widescreen 'collector's edition' VHS, Criterion CLV & CAV LDs, CAV 'Director's Cut' LD, US DVD in 'snapper' case, UK DVD in 'snapper' case, UK 'collector's edition' DVD with poster & script, remastered 2006 UK DVD, 5-disc HD DVD briefcase, 5-disc Blu-ray set, 5-disc Blu-ray briefcase, 5-disc UK 'tin' DVD set, UK Final Cut 2-disc Blu steelbook, UK Final Cut 2-disc standalone Blu, US 30th anniversary Blu digibook, 30th anni 'spinner' Blu set, UK 4-disc UHD

I've been considering getting the old Special Edition boxset put out by Warners in 2001, because it looks pretty. Also, the HD-DVD briefcase set, because people around here aren't as likely to hang onto that one. I hit up charity shops, yo.

I have had:
[Show spoiler]The Embassy VHS, Nelson Entertainment VHS, 10th Anniversary Edition VHS, Criterion CLV LD, Director's Cut VHS, Director's Cut VHS (1999 reprint), 3 Director's Cut Snapper DVDs (one's gone to my dad; another is mint, sealed), Director's Cut Remastered DVD (Bilingual; Canada, eh), Four Disc Collector's Edition DVD, 1 Disc Final Cut DVD, 2 Disc Final Cut DVD, Final Cut Blu-ray, 30th Anniversary DigiBook Blu-ray, and The Final Cut 4K UHD (with the Archival Versions instead of the Enhancement Archive)

Go for it! I don't know how much it goes for nowadays, but back when I bought mine, it was surprisingly cheap.

I've got the DVD briefcase. I was getting ready to sell it last year and stepped on the fookin' handle. I've been depressed since them and shoved it back into its hole.

Think it's still worth something to someone? I think I still have the parts to the handle.

Chris

It is a collector's item...but not so much with a broken handle. I bought my case (minus discs) off eBay a few years ago and store my UHD copies in there (along with all the goodies).

I'm still waiting for Limited Run to put up the Blade Runner PS4 re-release for pre-order.

What I love most about this is that you're wearing the same expression as your avatar, too.

Well this is depressing!

It's a curse! Some might say.

I first ordered this secondhand from marketplace on amazon.com.
After a month it arrives, and it turns out to be 2049, so I send it back, but don't even get the original shipping costs reimbursed.

Then I order the German edition on amazon.de, also marketplace.

I get it, but inside is a Blu-ray of some action movie, so I send it back, and get a full refund.

Next, I order on Zavvi, along with loads of other BDs and UHDs. Everything ships, and most items have already arrived, except for Blade Runner 4k.
Today, I am being informed that the order had to be cancelled, as they can't restock it.

What the heck is going on here?????
