Yes, Showgirls has a huge cult following and it's not really middle-aged straight men wanting to look at some boobs either... many of the camp aspects of the film have endeared it to gay men as well as other groups of people who enjoy it on a "so bad it's good" level. It wouldn't be appropriate to wrap this up with a documentary on sex thrillers of the 90s because the films appeal to different audience demographics.

Fair enough, although I really have no interest in hearing a handful of 'die hard' fans discuss this movie, as this is apparently what this docu is;

(Director) McHale focused on the die-hard fandom spawned by this piece of high-camp cinema, placing it above stars Berkley and Gina Gershon, who stole the Paul Verhoeven (“Basic Instinct”) flick as catty Cristal “Darlin'” Connors, backstabbing headliner of the Stardust Casino’s “Goddess” revue.

“We talked to people who were involved in the [renaissance] of ‘Showgirls,’” he says. “It’s coming from the opinions of people who were involved in its afterlife.”

Their doc does feature cast interviews — with the exception of Nomi herself.
