When Worlds Collide
A Place in the Sun
The Carpetbaggers
No Way to Treat a Lady
Night Falls on Manhattan
I love Night Falls on Manhattan. Will this be region free?

And thinking about Paramount films released in Australia, there's Gene Hackman in Uncommon Valor (1983) released on 3rd June, & Burt Reynolds in The Longest Yard (1974) released on 8th July (both from Umbrella Entertainment).

I think it's okay to post on this thread, and I'm definitely in for NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY. Great film.

Oooh the same studio that's doing A Place In The Sun.
I would love to see The Carpetbaggers: had to settle for the Italian DVD with quality that leaves a ... bit to be desired. Hopefully they will give it a stellar artwork too.

Yup, I'm in for The Carpetbaggers, I haven't seen that for years (& I do love films about Hollywood), I never thought it would ever get a Blu-ray release, I see it's 5.1 sound. You can see the artwork & specs here:

Since someone just thanked my earlier post on the Australian release of Ordinary People, apparently JB Hi-Fi now has it as well: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/o...e-1980-blu-ray Meanwhile, my copy from Sanity (who at one point told me all shipments out of Australia had been stopped by the government, though I don't think Australia Post ever went that far) has reached the States; USPS says it's scheduled to arrive Saturday, but its last scan was yesterday evening in San Francisco so we'll see. First reports in the Australian forum suggest it's not that great a transfer, but it's by far the newest Best Picture winner not previously released on BD.

Edit: Here's the Australian forum thread on it: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=326200

I'm really enjoying King Creole. Great PQ, cool slip. I'm getting interested in their PP line now.

I tried searching the database here for this release but it might not have been added yet. Does anyone please know which films are in this Stephen King collection?

I thought Scream would have had some exclusivity to Silver Bullet seeing as their release only came out in December. Glad to see The Dead Zone although it's a shame that it's not getting a collector's edition release.

So the only way to get The Dead Zone now will be in a collection with a bunch of films many people already own?

God I hate Paramount and their home video release strategy.

Hoping that Shout is still planning on releasing their own collector’s edition, didn’t they hint at it? I may be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.

Someone message them on Facebook and asked them about Orca, the Dead Zone, and Tales from the Darkside. They said something like not this month, but maybe in the future. Still, who really knows.

The good news is that it will at least have its own disc, so the transfer should be decent. However, I'm thinking the reason why Paramount is not releasing it as a solo release is because Scream will probably release it. Still, that's not 100%

If its exclusive to the boxset the dead zone and silver bullet may share a BD-50 like the Friday the 13th boxset.

It’s 5 discs according to the listing. Looks like each get their own disc.

Glad Paramount are releasing catalog titles again and hope they continue to do so. Also really appreciative of the $9.99 pricing of the next wave compared to the major studios who are pricing them around $19.99-$24.99 as mod titles. Paramount could also join Movies Anywhere on the digital end.

Since Paramount is releasing a bunch of their catalog films on Blu-ray now, I really wonder when they'll get to the DreamWorks Pictures films that are under their control. From what I've gathered so far, at least MouseHunt has an HD master ready to go, so that could be an early candidate if they begin releasing that studio's films.

I want Evolution and Red Eye. A huge chunk of my remaining DVDs are from Paramount.

I hope they also start putting out their Nickelodeon films (Jimmy Neutron and Rugrats 1-2 would be aces).

But I'll be happy with the Bad News Bears collection.

Second. I really want Good Burger in particular, but all three Rugrats movies are due for remasters. The first one still lacks an anamorphic release.

While on the subject of Paramount's family films, a good-looking master of the animated Charlotte's Web is available digitally. I've always felt like as its popularity grew, Paramount started to treat it as its answer to the animated Disney classics, so I can see them eventually putting it out now that things are different. There's also Bugsy Malone, which, while available digitally, still lacks a region 1 DVD.

I wonder why Paramount never brought out The Parallax View on blu-ray when they did for similar 70's thrillers Three Days of the Condor & Marathon Man?
Watched Condor tonight for the first time in probably 20 years, and it looks really good on blu-ray. I wonder if in any earlier draft Faye Dunaway's character was supposed to return instead of just kind of disappearing from the story?

Which release of Face/Off is better?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. Couldn't find a thread for the movie.
