Into the Wild (2007)

Indeed, Into the Wild is a movie about chasing and living your own dreams, and confidently standing by your own viewpoint, even amid opposition. Yes, Chris did not prepare for what lay ahead for him in Alaska (he did not prepare for just about all of his travels), but it is at the end of the movie where he realizes the one thing he did not give any thought to - that living your dream life can be exponentially less meaningful if you are doing it all alone. For Chris, this was the case. His contact with very different people is what carried him along throughout his journey. He did not realize that until the very end.

If you recall, Chris envisioned running into his father's open arms. No matter what went on in his life as a child (which definitely helped to mold his outlook), there was, in his vision, a great deal of hope from both he and his father. But, as is the case in situations like these, it was too late.

I own the BD and I admit that it will be watched over again only moderately at best. I'm glad to own it, as it came on the heels of some recommendation by others as a film they knew I, in particular, would like. They were right. The movie does resonate very well with me.
