I can't even remember the last new Disney movie I watched that wasn't Star Wars. Moana three years ago? I've already boycotted CG animation the last few years (partly because they won't give me ANY traditional animation and partly because I just don't miss CG). Gonna be easy to boycott their live action too if they wanna force me to subscribe for a few Fox catalog titles and ignore everything else. Like I really care about Marvel and more remakes of the traditional animations they used to be known for.

Moana had traditional animation, even if it was in just few scenes.

We should all contact Disney and tell them we don't want this! Just complaining about it on these forums won't solve anything.

That freaking sucks. I highly prefer physical media over digital. I was so excited when Disney first purchased Fox because of the Marvel film properties but I didn't expect for Disney to lock all of those classic Fox films in the vault. If anything, Disney should sell Fox or at the very least license out those films like the article mentions. I'm very disappointed.

I figured this was going to happen the moment Disney+ got announced. I was shocked at how much physical media they've put out after and almost felt like they were dumping their catalog just to get it out there so they could focus on streaming.

I'm not a big Disney fan. The only thing left I'd want from them at this point are both Tron movies. That said, if they are doing the same to Fox movies, I have a huge problem with that.

I just don't understand why you can't appeal to everyone. The people buying the physical discs either aren't going to subscribe to D+ in the first place OR are such big media fans, that they subscribe on top of it. Meanwhile, if you are a streaming media fan or D+ subscriber, you aren't going to suddenly stop subbing because Disney decides to put a movie out on disc.

Why would you not want sales from both crowds? I will never subscribe to D+. If you don't give me the physical release, you won't get any money from me.

Not enough to count. It's a CG animation. I remember reading that Ron Clements and John Musker actually wanted to animate it traditionally.

I'm boycotting Dreamworks Animation too.

So they bought Fox, just to bury it in streaming? What the fvck is their problem? They're so rich that they can buy a whole company and sit on the properties they bought with zero problems? Forget the various franchises and fanbases that they're shitting on right now. It's just a dick move, no other way around it. They coulda let other companies who woulda given more of a damn about Fox's catalogue buy the rights. But no, Disney scooped it up, cherry picked what they wanted and tossed the rest in the trash. Fvck right off.

not in the case of Splash, where nothing was offensive or racist, it was just cleaned up for so called "family friendly" content in 2020

Technically not boycotting them, as they're doing what they've always done, but I also have no interest in seeing their stuff anymore, because CG animation doesn't do much for me. I'm sick of it. Nearly every example someone could give me would look more beautiful in traditional animation. I think the last Pixar movie I watched was Inside Out in July 2016.

I stick with Laika, at least it's stop motion and more texturally interesting.... not to mention their films are better.

I don't care for stop motion. I personally prefer hand drawn animation, but I don't mind CGI as long as the story is good (The Incredibles, WALL-E, Tangled, Moana). I used to despise CGI but I guess I've gotten used to it.

Ok well I just canceled disney plus because the value wasn’t there for me. I own tons of Disney on physical media and wasn’t that impressed. Where is all the goofy trying to fly a plane? Or being a Knight? Anyways no plans to support their streaming service again.
