It's just the idea that it can go missing like that without any warning whatsoever.

It is annoying, but it is probably just a glitch on their end that they will fix. At least now you have some proof to show them. Vudu usually takes a day or two to respond to requests for help.

Paid for it and they can just say "nope, not yours anymore." I guess had I bought the DVD or Blu-ray, I'd still have it. Anyone know where to start with getting this fixed?
Like anything you have to prove your purchase, in this case Code Redemption. For Vudu go to your Account then Purchase History, and that Movie and it's the Ben Affleck one right? It should be there, if it isn't it was not a good Redemption. Did you check at the time to see if it Redeemed into your Account? iTunes should have an Account Record too. If you can't find a Record, then it's a Code problem and you have to go back to the source. When Redeeming Codes you have to make sure it's a good Redemption.

I know people don't have any faith in Digital, but I haven't lost any Movies. Sometimes they get buried in the Collection and you have to do a search. Are you sure you bought the right Code? There is another The Way Back with Ed Harris that came out 2011. You have to tell us what was the problem, because they don't just pull Movies without a good reason.

Where did you buy the code? If you bought it on the gray market, someone may have sold you an Instawatch code, which is a violation of the terms (the code is only for the original purchaser of the disc release). Vudu has recently started cracking down on this:

I have done some trading on here. I have only traded away codes that are from discs I purchased at retail, so I know they are all legit. However, I do not know the source of the codes I receive from those trades.

Is there a way to discern weather or not a code is instawatch code vs a code from a retail package?

Also, I do not even have a wal-mart account, and quite truthfully, I am not even sure how instawatch works.

Can someone please educate me on all of this?

We don’t have any faith in digital? Is it that obvious?

Can you be more specific as in where you bought a code? If it was a code from a disc set then it is not fair and square. To redeem a code from a disc set you should own the same. Before you can redeem a code you state that you own the disc set.

Picked a movie at random (here), click back and zoom. States the use of digital codes.

Faith has nothing to do with streaming. Be honest, have you read the TOS/EULA from Amazon, MA, Vudu, iTunes, Google and the content providers?

I don't know if any of my streaming movies has ever disappeared because most are not in my database so I can not make that statement. ALL of my physical media is in a database and has been since the days of the Sinclair computer.

Sinclair Spectrum? Or was there a Sinclair before that. I used to love my Speccy as a kid.

I received a PM today informing me that I won a blu-ray in one of this website's giveaways. It is the first time that I have ever won anything from here.

I have no idea how long it takes to actually receive my prize, but it is still a fun start to the day.

This is what I won:

Might as well send it to me, you will probably not get around to watching it until 2025!

Maybe I will watch it sooner than later? It's a mystery, but at least I know that it will be here when I do get around to it.

I bought the code from here -https://hdmoviecodes.com/. It is a legit codes for iTunes HD - MA for this movie. TOS/EULA can say pretty much anything, whether or not it is legally-binding is another story. "Purchase" means I own it otherwise they can't really call it a purchase. The FTC Act prohibits false/deceptive advertising. But I guess because these guys are rich they don't have to follow that law.

Hardly legit. Did you read that store's terms? Among other dubious things, it says:

"You are responsible for the health of your own iTunes, VUDU or Disney accounts. HDMOVIECODES.COM is not liable for any problems or issues that may arise with any one of these accounts because of redeeming one of our codes. By purchasing with us you assume all risk and responsibility for the health of your individual accounts. We do not recommend that you call support with any one of those services and telling them that you purchased a code online as it may violate their Terms of Service. Purchase at your own risk.
[...]
Instawatch Purchases have a 180 Day Rolling Period. No refunds or credits will be issued for purchases after 180 Days. HDMOVIECODES is not responsible for the health or standing of your VUDU account any redemption of codes or Instawatches is at your own risk. "

Does anyone else own this movie digitally that still has it? It was a redeemer code I bought through a third party. Maybe they saw it was a redeem code and wacked it.
I just checked my library and I still have it. I'm sure it was just a mistake.

Have you read it? None of us own the Movie we just own the right to watch the content. All you own is that Disc, but if that Disc or Player malfunctions you can't watch that Movie. My Collection is stored on several Servers, and backed-up for easy access. I have a Catalog of most of my Movies, plus Vudu has a good way of tracking my Movies and TV Shows. Amazon Prime and MA also have some tracking features. Like I said, I haven't lost anything and I'm sure the Providers want happy customers.
