I have a very similar setup:
7.2.2 - Front R/L — B&W 706 S2 - Center — B&W HTM71 S2 - Rear R/L — B&W 706 S2 - Surround R/L — B&W CWM663 - Atmos — B&W CCM663 - Subs Front/Rear — SVS SB-2000 - AVR — Denon AVR-X4500H - Projector — Sony VPL-VW295ES - Screen — Stewart Balon Edge 110” with StudioTek 130 G4 I have an Emotiva XPA-7 Gen 3 on the way. I set this all up a year ago because I moved into a home that already had a 2-row small theatre room built. I figured I’d try a basic setup to see if we liked it. A year later, and I use it nearly every day. So I’m now also planning to upgrade the projector to the NX7. I’m curious to hear what you think of the Stewart screen. I’ve had that for a couple of months, and I’m not super impressed. I previously had a Screen Innovations Zero Edge Pure White 1.3. Some contractors working on our theatre over the summer accidentally ruined the SI screen, and, after all of the glowing reviews, I decided to try the Stewart StudioTek. The Stewart doesn’t seem as bright as the SI, and I’ve seen a lot more artifacts with it as well. Maybe it’s a bad screen-projector pairing, but I’m considering getting another SI screen. |
