I find that movie painfully dull but the Quicksilver kitchen scene is great.

Watched It Came from Outer Space. The 3D is great, especially in the first half of the movie. Meteor comes shooting towards you and ash floating around the air really pops out of the screen. If you’re going to make a film in 3D then it needs pop out gimmicks otherwise it’s not worth making in 3D.

I’m going to watch the Maze in 3D next. Movie prob won’t be great but I hear the 3D is exceptional.

While I disagree that 3D needs pop outs to be effective, I do enjoy the odd object thrown at me.

ICFOS is a keeper for sure. I had to duck when those boulders came towards me!

I haven’t had a chance to completely watch yet but just some first impressions skipping the chapters. It has a bit of a soft look kind of like Friday the 13th part 3. Not a complaint, just an observation. The 3D is strong throughout the entire movie like the other 80’s 3D flicks. Lots of layers, a very strong sense of space within scenes, foreground objects frequently pass the screen, corridors go back very deep. Very nice! A very worthy addition to the 3D arsenal.

That’s consistent with what I have heard.

Thanks

Ant-Man and the Wasp

I like this one slightly more than the first movie. Strong 3-D with IMAX scenes. Some cool examples of how the 3-D is used: Ghost’s fazing appears on several separate levels and towards the end when Hank enters the quantum tunnel, it sinks deep into the screen. Not anything that can be appreciated watching the flat version.
(Oh and this movie also has the very attractive Hannah John-Kamen.)

Default Puss In Boots

Watched Puss in Boots last. Entertaining movie with great 3d that gets even better in the second half. I think the combination of brighter locations/times and fun action had something to do with it.

I agree. This was a complete surprise. I wasn’t expecting much and I thought the movie and 3D were great. Also got it for $5, so that also helps.

Default Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

I last watched Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Great 3D Effects (unfortunately it is 21:9 and not 16:9).

There is also a cool 3min. Looney Toons 3D Shortmovie on the disc.

Lots of pop-outs when I increased the 3D level to 2. Cool 3D lenticular cover also.

No 3D level setting on my projector, just -2 -1 0 +1 +2 on my Blu-ray player.

Watched Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw 3D last night.
Very good entertainer overall but 3D effects could have been better considering the opportunity. Otherwise full throttle

I watched Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D from the new Scream Factory set over last month's Friday the 13th weekend. Already received my replacement discs as well.

Also watched The Great Gatsby, which is awesome; and The Croods for the first time. I like the movie and characters a lot. The 3D is good like most Dreamworks animated films. Then I checked out the sequel in an IMAX theater. No 3D showings in my area.

Looking forward to watching some holiday 3D films this month.

Watched The Little Prince last night and enjoyed it. No pop-outs but felt like it had natural depth throughout and I liked both animation styles - they were contrasting but both worked well in 3D.
