...you can argue that so and so brand is better than so and so. But to say the 805 wouldnt provide enough for the home theater listening experience?? right.

First of all, if you have an 805, I am sorry if I offended you. This was not an attack on the 805. I am trying to figure out if you are trying to sell me the receiver or the guy with the original post. Yes, the 805 will not provide his setup with the correct power, in my opinion. 110 watts is good per channel and can drive those speakers. But how clean is the Onkyo's power as compared to the 3808? Denon, and I do not own one, has some of the cleanest power sent out and the 3808 is a basic model for his setup.
Please do not use a Crutchfield catalog as a guide. The review does not tell you his speakers, room setup, etc.. Also, the specs are not as complete as they can be; ie, the DAC's, processing chips, etc.
If you are defending the Onkyo, then so be it. If you had the 875 or better up there for comparison, I would say it is possible adequate for his setup. Either way, whatever sounds best to him is all that matters, but lets give him a good starting point to look at.
