View Poll Results: Would you rather have 7 speakers w/ less power each or 5 speakers w/ more power each?
Use all channels of 7-channel receiver, but less power per speaker 3 60.00%
Use 5 channels so receiver power is split into 5 more powerful channels instead of diluted by 7 2 40.00%
Voters: 5. You may not vote on this poll

Default Would you rather: max channels or max power receiver-to-speakers

Would you rather:
[A] Use the maximum number of channels that your receiver can handle, but have less power to each speaker, or
[B] Maximize the power to each speaker by using less channels than your receiver can handle?
For example, the DENON AVR-S750H AV Receiver can handle 7 speaker channels, but presumably that would mean the receiver's power / hrz / performance split to each speaker would be less per speaker. But if you only used 5 of the channels and left 2 empty, would that mean those 5 channels would have more power / better performance per speaker?
