Regrading/remastering is still pretty rare. I only know of the 3(?) (Halloween, BVS and Labyrinth). 2 were done by forces outside of the studio like Shout/Zack or Sony just deciding to upgrade (marginally?) so they can sell more copies. There still hasn't been a true regrade/remaster from a studio that decided their first offering was horrible. There are a few earlier 4Ks who could benefit from a revisit. Though I doubt any studio is willing to pony up the money to redo old releases unless someone pressures them or another label picks it up.
Yeah, I know the BvS was thanks to Snyder....and I'm so grateful... it always bugged me how fake the flames looked on the 4k, yet the Blu ray looked fine... I thought it was because my tv was an entry model...... anyway... was kinda hoping this could be a similar case....a remaster of Fury Road so it doesn't have that pinkish hue to all the flames...

EDIT: also, what regrading was done to Halloween?... I have the 4k... the previous one....didn't know they changed something on the new version

I am not versed enough to speak about what was done and how much it improved the image. Just check out the reviews for the Halloween Shout edition. Here is one: https://ultrahd.highdefdigest.com/96...rsedition.html

I opted to upgrade my lionsgate because Shout was offering 3 cuts of the movie among other things.

MMBT is actually my favorite in the series. Jaw-dropping production design, incredible score (those anvils when we first go into Bartertown) as well as Tina’s iconic music, and my favorite performance by Mel as Max. People always gripe about the kids but I think they’re the soul of the movie — Max coming to the aide of tomorrow’s future because it’s too late for the rest of the world, squabbling away in the rubble.

Great film.

No it's actually quite good. I like it better then Fury Road. First two are the best ones.

As I never picked up the Black & Chrome BD I'm not too fussed about having to buy Fury Road again in this set. B&C is available on its own for buttons but that'd also come with another copy of the colour BD that I don't need, so I'll just sell my standalone UHD and get the complete 'package' that comes in this 4K set.

I will say this though about watching the UHD in black and white: it looks AMAZING. No, it's not the "true" B&C edition and I've personally never said it was, but the crazy contrast on the HDR lends itself perfickly to this monochromatic look.

Oh, and boo-urns to whoever at Warners decided to permanently retitle Mad Max 2 as The Road Warrior on these cover arts. That's what the Americans had, fine, leave them to it, but it'll always be Mad Max 2 to me. Fingers crossed they keep the MM2 title card intact.

I've never liked the US (re)title.

Did the same but I might get the Steels if they get gloss finish, embossing/debossing and when they are around £20 a piece. There is a possibility that BB Steels could get gloss treatment but have to wait for confirmation.

It was titled that way on BD too, so it'll probably be the same story again. Unless they break their usual rules about branching and do both opening title options (highly unlikely).

Well, THE ROAD WARRIOR is a far more evocative title than the oh-so-pedestrian MAD MAX 2, but the latter is the actual title, so I’m always divided on this issue.

The title card for “MAD MAX 2” is the better design.

I think they'll keep the title card as is since it was left as "Mad Max 2" on both of the BD releases, but WB has been incredibly inconsistent regarding the actual title on the packaging and the disc menu. I've seen "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" and "The Road Warrior". And now we have "Mad Max: The Road Warrior." Why???

I'm not a fan of "I spit on Your Grave" as a movie but I think Warner aught to do whats been done with the home video releases for that film and have "Mad Max 2" front and center and then off to the side below that have "aka The Road Warrior". Has both titles on the package and there's no chance of confusing people who know it by only one of those titles.

Sorry to go off on a tangent but this is something that has always been an annoyance for me.

It's Mad Max 2 because that's how it's was released in Australia doesn't matter anywhere else.
