I actually think this looks pretty cool! I liked Dan Trachtenberg's "10 Cloverfield Lane" so I look forward to seeing what he does here. I like the approach they seem to be taking.

I've always said that the Predator films should be done in different periods of history as suggested by the human "artifacts" the Predators had on their ship at the end of Predator 2:

-Feudal Japan with ninjas/samurai (A clan of ninjas being picked off one-by-one by a Predator could be fun!)
-Medieval Ages (knights/templars vs. predators)
-Native Americans (we get this here)
-Vikings (vs Predators)

Essentially, you'd be pitting the "warriors" from different time periods against the predator and seeing how they fare. haha If done right, it could be an interesting way to keep the formula, but mix it up at the same time and add some variety.

Anyways, the title change is interesting to say the least. But I don't necessarily dislike it.

Yes, Predators was good!

I'd say it's arguably the best sequel since the original, though Predator 2 is pretty fun and Danny Glover was good in it.

I actually don't mind the first AVP as silly fun, but the second AVP is pretty bad if you ask me. The weak script and the dark, murky cinematography combined with the weak action just killed it for me.

IMO The Predator could have been a great movie if the studio didn't get cold feet after fans saw set pics of the 'deserting Predators' online and decided to completely do over the second half of the movie.

Shane Black's script was much better than what we ultimately got, and would've featured Area 51, a human villain played by Edward James Olmos, Predator hybrids, a tank chase and more.

We barely got a shell of what Black had originally written and shot.

Anyway, Predator is obviously the best movie in the franchise, and Predator 2 remains the best sequel so far IMO.

Not too hyped about this one, but it's sad to see Disney just throw it online instead of it having a proper theatrical release. Way to go.....

I think Trachtenberg is an okay director. I think the concept is okay. I'm wishing for the best but the franchise has been very low for a while.

Yeah, The Predator was fine, aside from the ending that the studio obviously butted in on. The finale felt rushed and unfinished. Aside from that, a fun flick with a great cast and some cool Predator shit.

I'm always down for another Predator film, but I have no expectations for this one. Straight-to-streaming tells me that even the studio thinks this is a stinker. After all, if it was good, it would go to theaters.

I'd agree with that order

Personally and its the same thing for aliens I'd like to see overacting story and world building theres so many interesting avenues to expand on and we're always stuck spinning tires in the "omg what is this monster, its our first time seeing it".

It probably will do here in the UK. I have no problem watching smaller feature films at the cinema (Green Book, Stan And Ollie, The Good Liar, etc) but doesn't bode for studio confidence if it is going to premiere day-and-date as a streaming title...
